my daughter is high in sensory and loves these. we got her some last year and they are holding strong. i decided to get another set this year.

My daughter and niece love these toys in the bath, and in the pool. We have multiple sets! Be careful as they do attract dirt/hair, but totally worth the money.

I cannot describe the odor in one word. Alcohol, Propylene. the tentacles dont smell but the body is overwhelming chemical smell I assume from the batteries..be safe

Fun, but smells awful. My little girl loved these cute toys but we ended up taking them back because they smelled like strong chemicals. I even waited and aired them out for a couple of days and nothing seemed to help. I was bummed because she loved how squishy they were and how they lit up. I wouldn't recommend just because of the smells

My kids love to play with these in the bath tub with the lights off for a bit since they light up. Seeing lots of reviews about a bad smell, but the ones I bought did not have any smell.

I wish I could’ve given this 0 stars. Bought online and super excited that my granddaughter would love them. This product cannot be good for children. Upon opening package we smelled the strongest smell of gasoline! Soaked these for 2 days and they still smell strongly of gasoline. Threw them away. Cannot be safe for children. I am contacting Target to let them know they need to pull these off the shelves.

Took these to a hotel for my kiddos and they were a hugeeeeee hit. I loved that they also light up / glow underwater. I do wish they floated even a little bit, but all of the kids in the pool loved them, ranging from 2 to probably 15. Will buy again.

They became super sticky and goopy like after they become wet. Fun for outdoors I wouldn’t use in bathroom

Purchased them last year. No smell. But the legs/ arms are coming off now. The head is just so heavy. My daughter loves them though so I'll probably buy them again.

Love that it lights up and is easily used by all ages. It’ll be fun in and out of water

The smell is awful and definitely harmful.

I threw this out immediately. There is a strong acetone smell coming from them, can’t see this being safe for children to bathe with…

We love shutting the lights off at bath time and lighting up our Octopi and Octopus Prime! We have imaginative play with them all the time, catching so many monsters with their tentacles. Highly recommend!

These smell like gasoline. Do not let your kids play with these toxic toys. Why would target even sell these?? Very disappointing.

I ordered online and picked up in store. On the outside of the package it said "Try Me". I tried everything to get them to light up before I opened the package. Thought they were not working so I returned them. The ladies at the service desk couldn't even get them to work. Tried every package at the store, but nothing. So, I brought them home & opened it up. Had to shake and tap them to get to work. 1 works better than the other. Plus, they still smell bad and purchased them March 11, 2023.

Like other reviewers have said, when you open the package, these smell like the scariest, most noxious chemical!! I even let them sit outside to "off gas" for a full week thinking the smell would dissipate, but they STILL smell strongly. Definitely not comfortable giving them to my toddler. Big shame because they're super fun to play with, and the way they light up is awesome -- but why risk it and expose your kid to some random unknown chemicals?! I'm surprised these are still being carried after multiple reviews complaining about the smell.

This toy has a strong, awful acetone smell! Did not feel safe giving it to my child.
