Use the tips & visuals in this guide to make taking your child's body measurements easy-peasy.

Dont have a fabric tape measure? Use a shoelace or pant leg to measure. Then, lay it flat & use a ruler or tape measure to get a numerical measurement.

How to measure

Height

Have your child stand in front of the fridge.Mark the top of the head with a magnet. Measure a straight line from floor to magnet.
Chest

Have your child make airplane arms. Wrap tape measure around the fullest part of the chest, keeping it level & snug.
Waist

With your child bending to one side, measure the point where the flexes naturally. keep the tape level & comfortably loose.
Hip

Have your child stand like a tall tree with feet together. Measure a level line around the fullest part of the hips & seat.
Inseam

Take a pair of pants that fit your child well. Measure along the seam from crotch to leg opening.

Nice pants, bulky for small kids

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought these pants (XS) for my son who is in kindergarten- the waist is a little large, but I love that they have Velcro straps that make the pants adjustable and likely to last more than one season. The only negative part about them is that they are very bulky in general, making them a little more difficult for smaller children.

Super warm snow pants for kids

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These are super warm snow pants for kids. To me these fit a bit bigger than a true to size which is great so they hopefully last you two winters if not more and will allow for lots of movement and play in the snow. I would absolutely suggest these also because they are just pants and not a full bib set up which my daughter loves. My daughter is wearing a size XS which is our usual size at 5 years old, 45/46 inches tall. They are kind of long too so they won’t come up over their boots and get snow in them. Obviously we have shown them not with her winter jacket and boots on so you can really see how they fit. Your child will love these and find them to be the best as we have! They have great pockets too that zip so things like gloves don’t get lost as easy when they zip them in.

Adjustable snow pants with reinforced knees

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this pair of snow pants for my daughter who normally takes a size large or a size 12 pants. These snow pants fit true to size. I really like these pants because they have an adjustable waistband on the outside of the snow pants that can be adjusted with a Velcro strap on each side. The snow pants are also reinforced in the knee and rear area, they are thick and feel high-quality without being overly heavy. They have a snap and zip closure as well as Velcro in the front, and have two side pockets with zippers. At the bottom of the legs of the snow pants, there is a grippy elastic that comes down to the ankle so that snow will not get inside the pant leg legs. Overall, I think these are a great pair of snow pants and a great value.

Kids snow pants with adjustable waist

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Kids snow pants with adjustable waist. My son is wearing size medium. My son is about 47 inches tall and about 54 pounds. I felt like these snow pants ran big on him. My son is in between a small and medium depending on the brand. I thought medium would be better especially since you usually have a layer or two under snow pants also but they were still very large on him. Do not size up for these. However the material was ver sturdy. They also had pockets which was nice to keep a phone if needed. Overall good quality product.

Oddly Sized

XL in Cat and Jack is the usual size we wear/purchase, but these snow pants are oddly sized. The length fits fine, but the waist is huge (there are 2 velcro tabs you can adjust slightly), and the hip area is really wide so it puffs out at hips. Tried a large to see if that would fit - too short in length and hip area is still wide. Have to return both. Great price though but doesn't fit.
