Description
Introducing Kinetic Sand Splash, play sand that magically changes color in water. This Kinetic Sand kit will spark imagination and excitement as kids stretch, squish and create. Comes with 6oz blue Splash Sand, rake, 2 molds and an enclosed play space. Fill the divided play area with warm water on one side, ice cold water on the other, and get to the fun. Mold characters and discover heart eyes and sunglasses. Dip characters in ice cold water to turn the sand blue, then change back to white in warm water. Like Kinetic Sand, Splash Sand is made from natural sand and never dries out for endless reveals. Do not mix Splash Sand with regular Kinetic Sand. Stretch and rake underwater, stretch and flow out of water – Splash Sand is so satisfyingly stretchy, you won’t be able to put it down. After play, dry the tools and case, and squeeze and fully dry sand overnight before storage. An alternative to arts and crafts modeling clay, Kinetic Sand is a welcome addition to the sensory bin, activities time and Montessori toys. Meh. Stick with original kinetic sand
We are huge kinetic sand fans, but this was a bust. My kid had to have this after seeing all of the commercials. Pros: The price was right. We like the carry case and molds. Cons: color change was disappointing. The sand went from light gray to dark gray. Not the bright blue as advertised. The consistency once wet was advertised as a new sensory experience, but it feels like gum or wet play-doh. The original kinetic sand texture and colors are way better. Also, beware that you're not supposed to mix regular kinetic sand with the kinetic sand splash, which is difficult to do if you have a big collection as we do.

Mildew smell
I was intrigued by the convenient carrying case & thought this would be a great kinetic sand starter kit for my 20 month old, since she loves to play in water as well! Unfortunately it’s borderline impossible to get all the water out of the sand before storing it. This caused a foul odor after about 3 uses. Had to throw away immediately.

Not worth it
Doesn't really change color, maybe a little but not dramatic or exciting for a kid. Nothing special, she lost interest very quickly. Returning.

Fun and Tactile

Fun to run your fingers through
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As the adult I wish the instructions had been clearer and in writing. Following only pictures is not so easy! My daughter mucked around in the sand for a bit, ran it through her fingers and enjoyed it. She has not touched it again and was uninterested in the moulds. It was fun but I would not buy it again. Its use was very limited.

Perfect sensory activity!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Its like a little taste of the beach with Sand Splash! The Splash Starter Case has a whole new twist with colour changing sand activated by water, taking motor skills and creativity to another level! The kids were amazed by this new featured and were having a blast dipping the kinetic sand in the warm water on one half of the case and then the cold water to see the colour change in action. I love that the blue splash sand was much firmer than regular kinetic sand making clean much easier. It was super fun watching them mold, stretch and squish the splash sand! Perfect addition to our sensory bin!

Absolutely Amazing for Kids and Adults Alike!

Its a great sensory experience and incredibly satisfying to mold, squish, and stretch. The compact case makes it super easy to store and keeps everything neat when playtime is over. I also love how the sand doesnt dry out and is easy to clean upno mess, no fuss! My kids are obsessed, but honestly, I find myself playing with it just as much. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So after us trying this sand multiple times, were hoping that maybe the air would change it or maybe tying would just allow it to allow us to have the colour change but it didnt. The great thing is this hand is soft. But if you tell a kid, its going to change colour and it doesnt. Its going to be an issue and that was our issue every time we brought this out. We have been testing this thing for a couple weeks now. Hoping that at some point it might work. The container is great. The shapes are great. The fact that it didnt change colour if you delicate to change colour that was our biggest issue.!

The kit comes with blue splash sand, a rake and 2 molds. Additionally the play area is divided in two, one for warm water and the other for cold water. The kinetic sand is made from natural sand just like the original. It never dries, which brings a lot of fun After play, dry and pack everything into the case for storage. This toy promotes fine motor skills and creativity It is so easy to clean. Totally recommend
