KiwiCo Geologist Starter Kit

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My son had a BLAST with this! The gems were pre cut to help them break easily for him. The instructions were very clear and easy. It stuck together really good so he could move the volcano around without it falling apart. Fun pamphlet with some educational stuff about volcanos and gems. Also came with a little check list on the inside of pamphlet. Super cute!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was a really cute, fun geologist set for my 5 year old. His favorite thing was breaking open the geodes! The included safety goggles and hammer are still being used for other crafts and fun things around the house now. I wish the volcano was more durable, but it was simple to set up and fun to get to explode!

They got to dig, test, and explore real rocks and minerals while actually learning about how they’re formed. The activities were easy to follow, and everything we needed was included (which is a huge plus for busy parents!). It kept them engaged for a long time, and I loved seeing how curious they became about science and the earth. The quality of the materials was great, and the instructions made it feel like a real mini science lab at home. Highly recommend for kids who love to explore and get their hands dirty & this kit makes learning feel like an adventure!

Packaging is great and eco-friendly. Seems pretty durable to be used multiple times before it might not hold up anymore. I was very suprised at how great and educational this was for my child! This one in particular lets kids smash apart some rocks and put them on display. It also lets them build their own volcano and create an eruption! Very fun!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It always a fun experience with my kids my son couldn’t wait to build the volcano and break the rocks he had fun with the rocks but had a little trouble building the volcano but it was fun doing everything together. Package was cute but I wouldn’t pay much for it as it only lasted for such a short time.

I will be buying more rocks they can use for the rock stand this came with! The instructions are simple and easy to follow and everything you need is packed in the box

It not only helped my kids learn about nature and Geology but it was also fun! Guaranteed to put a smile on your child’s face! So amazing and worth it!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] All three of my kids ages 5 to 11 really enjoyed this the volcano was the biggest hit. Love the step-by-step directions. Everything you need is included in the kit and it lasted for about an hour of them sitting quietly and playing nicely.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was our first kiwico kit and it seemed to be a hit. The activities kept us busy for about an hour. It’s definitely a parent and child activity. Opening the geodes was fun. The safety glasses are adjustable although couldn’t quite get it to do so I didn’t put the most effort into it though as they fit my kiddo ok enough. The spinning rock case was cute to allow them to store more of their rocks and allow a close up view of one of the new geodes. The cardboard was a little beat up around the edges from transport, but still seems like it will hold up ok for a while however it’s also not something we will allow free access to at this time either. My little one has taken a huge interest in learning about volcanos lately too so this was a cool hands on activity to learn more about parts of a volcano and how it erupts. Only adults were able to blow the pressure building piece off the top, but the kids loved just making it erupt without that piece. It’s also a little challenging for my kids to keep the pump straight which is likely going to slowly break the adhesive for the wood pieces that lock the handle in. I love that the inside of the volcano has a clear window to watch the pressure building. Overall it’s a pretty cool design and fun shared learning activity. We will definitely consider more kiwico boxes in the future

My daughter loved learning about the science behind volcanos and geodes with digestible facts. Definitely an easy family fun activity that you can pull out on any rainy day. 10/10!

It’s a great learning experience for the kids however, I wish that the pieces for the volcano stayed on the bottom parts to stand up a little bit better. The kids loved the little pom-poms coming out of the volcano, but what they mostly enjoyed was beating. Open the rocks to see what they got as a crystal. This was definitely a fun time for them to have in very educational at the same time.
