Kuhn Rikon Ratchet Spice Grinder, 8.5-Inch

What a great machine! These are the 5th and 6th (bought 2) I've given away as gifts to special friends. Makes using pepper a pleasure instead of a laborious task.

This works great, we love it and the pink salt matches the red!

I love the idea of the pepper grinder. But it is a TERRIBLE design . I bought the first one and, thinking it was my fault, the cover to add pepper broke. So I bought a second. Being careful, the cover broke again. Added duct tape to extend its life a bit. I was so thrilled to discover this grinder because it was so much easier on my wrist, but in the end I am very disappointed. I read other reviews and see that the company doesn't respond . This pepper grinder is well-designed. The lip where the pepper is held is much easier to fill than other grinders I have used.

This is my second set of Kuhn Rikon ratchet salt and pepper grinders. I also bought a set for my daughter-in-law. I love the ease of use (starting to get arthritis) and the adjustable texture of the salt and pepper, so I can adapt to differing dishes.

I was gifted a set of these about 15 years ago - it’s held up perfectly. It sounds silly but I love throwing the level back & forth, it’s so satisfying. Just bought a pair as a gift and feel confident they’ll enjoy them as much as I do.

This is my 2nd set of these ratchet grinders that I use as salt and peppercorn grinders. Needless to say I love and use so much I wore my first set out after 10 years!

I have had this for a few years now and use it at minimum a couple of times a week. It is absolutely a joy to have fresh ground pepper with so little fuss. This is a wonderful tool to have in the kitchen.

This has gotten moderate use in my kitchen and my family’s kitchen for more than 6 years now, which to me means an auto-recommend. We have 2, one for salt and one for pepper, and both are still going strong. However, they’re made even better by decent capacity and also striking design. I always get questions about these from friends when they see them in my kitchen. They look just as good as they did initially. Highly recommend these quality grinders!

I have owned one for more years than I remember. Now it was time to introduce my daughter to the greatest idea since Leonardo—- the ratchet. She loved it so much ; there are now 3 in her kitchen. Thank you for making a product that still Asher’s to the old ways. Quality

I had one of these pepper mills, I really liked it too! But the filler door broke on it, causing the pepper corns to spill out. The plastic material, and location of the break did not lend itself to repair, so I bought another one. I REALLY like this peppermill, because it's fun to use. Our family makes fun of the ratchet sound, the flippety-floppety motion of the grind handle... it's hilarious. I even will buy another if this one breaks. I guess the questionable quality keeps this item from 5 stars. Hope you have better luck.. and lots of fun!

This grinder was purcahsed to be able to grind just a couple of whole clove and a coule of all spice seeds at a time, It can't do it, the spices won't go down in to the grindeing burr area. Very sad.

I cook with this daily. So easy to control your seasoning when you use the ratchet grinder.

I asked a question 3 months ago about repairing the part that holds the salt & pepper inside the grinder. No reply from the company. It’s a shame to toss in the garbage but that’s the way products are today.

I bought one years ago to grind black pepper as I have arthritic hands. So easy to grind I recently bought two more for family members. Store bought hand grinders are too difficult to twist.

I bought this last year and loved it initially. 3 months in the bottom piece broke in the area you screw it on. I’ve had it approximately a year and the filler side popped out and can’t be reset.

I expected something a little more "weighty". it seems to work good; we'll see how long it lasts. the opening to fill it is kind of small and awkward.

Used this grinder for years several times per day - one for salt and one for pepper. Durable, easy to use, and just the right grind size and consistency.
