They don’t latch at all. The top won’t stay on no matter what. It just slides right off. It makes them completely useless.

I was given a container that was broken. It was missing a latch on one side. While thankfully I won't be closing and latching the lid, this should have been seen and swapped out for a container that wasn't broken

Bought two and only kept one. My friend's son didn't care that the latch doesn't grip very well as he won't be opening and closing the bin. One latch would snap in but the other would slide off easily. The depression on the lid is too shallow and the lip on the latch is not long or deep enough to catch. I won't be buying this item again and will be checking the latches more closely on similar products to see if they keep this same design.
