A: I took the measurements off the tote itself and it is 16.85" wide, 1 2 " deep and 14.24" high. If it is over stuffed, the lid will accommodate more.

After purchasing various sotrage bins (some expensive) I found these at Target - they are perfect for our closet, as the 12 inch depth does not overhang (and cause stacked bins on the top closet shelf to slide off, as the expensive bins would do).
