These materials have been approved by the FDA as food safe. It is the same material used to produce all of our food storage items. To ensure we offer only quality and safe products, no PVCs, Latex, Teflon, Phthalates chemicals, fungicides, Bisphenol A (BPA), or antibacterial chemicals are used in our manufacturing process. Sterilite does not use any harmful materials in the production of our products.

  • A: Hi BIGGUY! The 5.8 Qt. Storage Bin is made out of polypropylene and can withstand temperatures of as high as 180 degrees Fahrenheit and as low as 15 degrees Fahrenheit. At the higher temperatures, the plastic can eventually become flexible and could warp or deform. At colder temperatures, the plastic may become brittle and may crack or rupture. With repeat or prolonged exposure to these extremes will negatively impact the performance and longevity of the items.

    Twice, the shipping experience with these has been abysmal

    Quality is acceptable Value is acceptable if you actually receive usable merchandise. What is not acceptable is the shipping experience. Ordered 10 for shipping. 10 of the correct containers arrived with 10 comically large lids that belonged to another container and did not come close to fitting. Returned in-store and reordered. Second order of 10 arrived with... 9 lids, one of which was broken. So this time I received 8 usable containers and will have to return 2 of them a second time due to Target's inability to execute the most important, most basic portion of order fulfillment - counts and matching parts. Come on Target, this is BASIC execution.

    Target shipping is horrible

    Product is fine but… Missing lid, I always have trouble with target when I chance getting stuff shipped online. Usually they either pack it horribly and stuff is always broken or stuff is missing.

    Poor customer service

    I was quite disappointed that the wrong size lids were sent with the order. I placed the order to have it delivered to my home and not have to go to the store. I had a busy weekend and wanted to same time. Because of your error, I still had to go into the store. I had to wait to be acknowledged at the store and then I had to go locate the correct lids. I was given no instructions as to what to do when I returned so I had to wait for yet another staff to come back to the service desk. When I commented about my frustration of needing to come to the store your staff chuckled. Not one person said sorry for your inconvenience. I thought you really need some customer service. I would educate your staff who are packing orders to double check orders and confirm lids fit containers. Mine were 2 inches too big.
