The kids love to put as many decorations on top as possible. They have to write the name of each decoration they add so they are willing to write more words.

This product is well made & cute, but lacks enough letters to complete more than 1 picture at a time in the 6 holes of the cupcake toppers. The pictures should only consist of CVC words for more success by the early learner. Would like to be able to order additional picture and letters pieces for more sustainability & learning opportunities.

I use it to have kids practice saying different words, and also to name beginning and ending sounds of words. The kids are motivated by this, and they have a fun time. It would be nice if there were multiples of the high frequency letters so that I could spell multiple words. It's kind of limiting with only one E. My only complaint is that some of the letters are wearing off.

She liked finding the letters although there was no guidance for her to work on the words on her own. She is very independent and found this to be frustrating and boring pretty quickly. Colors and product is made well and is durable.

You can clearly see on the front of the box that you are to spell words but nothing else. My daughters still enjoyed it & we will continue to get use out of the game. I would recommend it more if it had some kind of instruction & objectives . I would like to try the other games as well.

My daughter gets to learn to decorate the cupcakes and alphabets while playing with it. Even though cupcake toppers can be stored inside of cupcakes, I wish the set came with a hard case for easy clean-up and storage.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The "ABC Party Cupcake Toppers Review. It's a good learning toy that will grow with your child from the ages 2 through 5, although it is rated 3+. All children learn and grow at their own pace, so this is only a general review. For your 2 and 3yr olds, you can choose the picture picks that correspond with sounds. For instance, put the dog picture pick in a cupcake topper and say, "The dog says woof." That can soon be turned in to, "What does the dog say?" Using a different picture pick to identify the sound could be an additional game. For instance, "What says glub?" With the child always putting the picture pick into the cupcake top, and then identifying it. Another game is the ABC's. You and your child could sing the song as you point to the letter picks, graduating to the child pointing to the letter picks as you sing. The letter picks could also be put into the cupcake toppers. Putting a picture pick in the cupcake topper and sounding out the first letter for the picture pick would be for 4yr olds. They would then choose the first letter (sound) with your help. You could even start to "spell" easy words like dog and sun. Advanced 4yr olds, and 5yr olds, can sound out the whole words and use the letter picks, for the picture picks, on the cupcake toppers. All ages will enjoy "baking" cupcakes in a cardboard box oven, (get creative, parents!) and decorating them with the picture pick and the letter picks. I see a few negatives with the ABC Party Cupcake Toppers: 1. The letter picks are written in upper and lower case. This is confusing for children. Lower case is best. 2. There aren't enough letters to spell all of the picture picks. Having one of each letter just doesn't work. You can't spell the names of thes following picture picks: ball, umbrella, watermelon, yo-yo, turtle, elephant, igloo, violin, apple, moon, and queen. 3. Kids will want to spell their own name, Mom and Dad, and Brother and Sister. There are not enough letters and duplicates to do it. 4. The cupcakes are meant to be used for storage of the picture and letter picks, but the tops are really tight. It might cause frustration. 5. Elephant is one of the picture picks. Not only are there not enough e's to spell it, there aren't enough holes in the cupcake topper for the letter picks. I think the basic premise of the ABC Party Cupcake Toppers is good, but I think it needs to be reworked. There are eleven picture picks that can't be spelled out,which makes it terribly frustrating. I think the younger children would have fun with it as a toy, but the learning aspect of it is frustrating. I'd have to give it a negative review

It's also a wonderful resource for teachers in the classroom working with children. The kids love it & parents & teachers love it as well because while the kids are enjoying this product, they are also learning. It will keep kids busy for quite a while, too. I highly recommend this learning resource for parents & also teachers in the classroom.

I like that the simple concept of the toy lets both my toddler and preschooler play together. I just wish that there were extra letters so that my children could spell their names and put on the cupcakes. Otherwise, the toy is a great way to teach young children colors, numbers, and letters.
