Learning Resources Simple Tape Measure, Measures 4 Feet, Ages 3+

My four year old grandson loves this tape measure! I was looking for something for him to put in his tackle box so he could measure the fish he might catch. But, he found some other very creative ways to us it! He wrapped one end around a cabinet handle and then attached the other end to his sister’s high chair. He then did the “limbo” under the tape!! It’s very sturdy, simple and safe! I would recommend it!

Cute and I’m sure my son is going to enjoy measuring things around the house but omg why is it so loud? There is absolutely ZERO reason for this thing to make a click-click-click sound as loud as it does as it’s pulled out and reeled back in. I have a feeling we will be sending this toy to grandmas house.

Best product Learning Resources has, in my opinion. Hasn't even been opened for 24 hours, and it was picked up multiple times. The conversations that came with play of this item were filled with problem-solving, real-life play, and multiple math conversations.

My daughter loves this toy! She especially enjoyed the loud cranking sound when unwinding and winding it back up. Unfortunately the little tabs that cause the sound broke, but she still loves it. Tried finding the replacement wheel part to fix it, but can't seem to find it. Great product still.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this for my 3 year old grandson. His parents do not like it and i agree, it makes too much noise. It's not realistic enough.

My 3 year old loves measuring!! Its so nice to now have one she can use without the worry of her hurting herself. Its very robustly made and easy to use. I gave it to my daughter and she was off, measuring everything. The measuring tape pulls out and only retracts if it is wound in, its made of soft material (unlike the ones in your tool box) so no risk of her hurting herself on the edges. To wind it in there is a large handle to turn on the side, there is also a large handle to grip with the other hand, perfect for little people. It also clicks when being wound back. This has also been out with us on our walks, its easy to clean and has survived being dropped often.

To any parents thinking of buying this for a child who is sensitive to noises, don't buy it. It makes a very loud noise when you pull the tape out and when you winch it back in. No where in the description did it say that so I bought it for my 3 year old who loves measuring tapes. He runs away from it and won't touch it due to the loud noise. It is a very realistic toy and I'm very disappointed that it makes that noise.

I purchased two - one for each granddaughter - ages 3 and nearly 5. Well made and easy to use - also numbers easy to read. Looking forward to their visit / we can measure things inside and outside of my home.

The size is perfect for little hands and easily rolls back-up.

My kids love this toy... so much that we might need to get another one. It is easy to play with, doesn't mark walls or objects that they would like to measure like a real tape measure might. I highly recommend this toy!

This was a great tool to teach my 5 year old about measuring without worrying about his getting cut or pinched with adult tape measures.

My 2 little boys love this toy! My 5 year old has had so much fun measuring. It's easy for him to use and it's been a great teaching toy. I have been able to teach him about inches, centimeters, meters, and feet. It's great for comparing what is bigger or smaller and taller or shorter. My 15 month old has gotten his little hands on it too and it's even easy for him to play with and has withstood his rough playing. So to me, that makes it very durable since my little one is rough with toys. The Learning Resources Tape Measure is a must have learning tool for young children. It's perfect for reinforcing early math and science skills. This measure is largely sized but not overly making it ideal for little hands to control and use. The tape measure has a soft-grip handle as well as a manual wind up crank. The crank is great for little ones to practice and master fine motor skills by reeling it back up. The colors are of green, purple, and yellow making making it gender neutral i.e good for either a girl or a boy. The tape displays inches & feet on one side, centimeters on the other! It also features a double-sided tab for easy use. Frustration Free! It's simple, straight forward, and the perfect measuring tape for children who want to measure everything they come across! My daughter age 4 1/2 has gotten a lot of use out of the Simple Tape Measure. We've used it for our homeschooling as well as for pretend play. She learns the best from doing something herself so any sort of manipulative activity. One activity that we did together with the measuring tape was to measure various items around the house. I laminated a sheet of items that could be found around the house, had her locate these items, and then measure them! She had a blast and was learning how to compare, contrast, and estimate! Both my children ages 4 1/2 & 2 1/2 years old had no problems using tape measure. There's been no fear of getting pinched or cut by retraction. The winding it back up came easily to my son and daughter. My kids can safely learn & play imaginatively to their hearts content! This product has been wonderful and it's held up great use after use. This product will be getting ton more use in our home and I can't see my kids excitement of using it faltering any time soon. Highly recommended and perfect for children age 3-6 years old!

First and foremost, let's talk about the bad news. We did have trouble with the tape measure getting off track in its wheel house. This was easily fixes by unscrewing the toy and re-looping it, and it actually provided yet another lesson for our child, as she got to see exactly how a tape measure works on the inside. Our 3 1/2 year old absolutely loves this thing. Right now we are working on very basic things like longer and shorter, and working on the feet designations (for example: find something that is more than 1 foot long). I can see this product also being useful for teaching fractions later on. Highly recommend! I was provided with this product free on charge and am giving my honest opinion here.
