[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was very excited to be chosen for this complimentary Harry Potter LEGO set campaign . My family is a big fan of the HP book series/movies AND LEGO. Great combination and a big attraction to this set. It is meant for 8+ but I decided to put it together myself. Packaged great! I love how Lego separated into 3 step baggies. The instruction book was a decent size and easy to follow. I especially liked that at the very end of the booklet that it listed each piece and its piece number just in case you happen to lose and need a replacement. The pieces are a perfect size and when put together are durable and dont fall apart easily. I like to put these type of sets up on display so I really like that and that this set comes with 5 character lego people, a collector piece and more details such as hedwig the owl and the spider and crab this definitely adds value to a lego set and makes you more willing to buy. I would 💯 recommend this set or any set similar by LEGO!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Lego set is amazing! Legos never fail to amaze me anymore. They have such a huge variety of designs that you can build and create with easy to follow instructions and can be fun for the whole family. The pieces are little in this collection so if you have a toddler it’s recommended you get a set with the bigger pieces. This set comes with an instruction manual and inside the box is three packs of legos. The instructions along with the different bags make set up so easy. The Lego Harry Potter collection is available in so many different styles that includes the students as well as all the different themes and fun activities that make hogwarts so magical. You will not be disappointed with this Lego collection.

She was very happy with the design when it was complete. The directions were clear and easy to follow. The pieces were organized in a labeled packages.

Of the recent Hogwarts sets that are designed to sit outside the castle I think along with the Owlery this set makes so much difference to the look of the castle. This set is probably one of the most important Hogwarts grounds sets to be made as it is the scene in the first movie where they first reach hogwarts by lamplit rowing boat at night and it is such a magical scene and that atmosphere has definitely been reproduced in this little set. For a relatively small set there are so many features and details. You can see this set is designed with lots of thought, care and attention to that arrival scene. It even includes Trevor the toad who was given to Neville Longbottom but it wandered off to live in the grounds. Pieces have definitely been put to good use and makes it look quite a generous size for the price and I love the way the new portrait tiles can be used in the sets, ive faced mine facing out of the tower which looks like a nice little feature. The only question I had was on the lamps on the boats, these lamps look like ones that should be used for streetlights or ones that you fit to buildings and don't really represent the boat lights in the film. In the film they are glass balls on long sticks. The ones in this set do look nice in a viking dragonship way or in like a swanlike side profile way but they are also a little delicate too due to the 'sausage' piece holding those small pieces together. I have included a photo of what I would have used in a similar piece count (please see my last photo of my suggestion). Saying that though everything does look nice and magical and that's what matters. I'm an adult collector and I'm very happy with it. The Harry Potter and Hogwarts sets are getting better and better and I'm glad they have introduced this set. Its affordable and suitable for everyone. Thank you.

This set was a first I bought in a while in the HP series. I had been getting the modular Hogwarts ones out of principle, to have the whole thing together, but the prices usually keep a check on my buyings. The Boathouse was no exception, though I know franchise-stuff is expensive. Nevertheless, I was keen on building this one, because it's an iconic piece of the films (not the books...). I was positively surprised by the level of detail (mushrooms, the broomstick weathervane, animals...) and the fact that the boats were self-built and not ready-made. I enjoyed the wee build, and it'll hold a nice place with the rest of the Castle model. Thanks for this set, Lego.

A small, fun, quick build. Has some nice touches and a few elements I've not seen before. However, although I understand the Play feature a few more pieces in the design of the actual boathouse instead of the drawer feature the set would have been much nicer. Guess I'm MOCing it. Good value for what you get and would still recommend to fans
