I have several Harry Potter sets and decided to add the train and station to my collection. I bought extra track previously (all current regular-sized Lego tracks and sets are interchangeable), so i can extend my build. Extra tracks aside, i like how the train can be opened to place and pose figures inside, and i love the colorful whimsy of the design. Happy to have found it on sale!

I didn’t like the condition that my package arrived in. The shipping box was crushed and torn and therefore it damaged the Lego box inside. It was dented on two of the four sides. I was disappointed in the arrival appearance, and condition to where I am contemplating returning it. I like my Lego boxes in good condition considering the prices that you pay for them, and believe it would’ve been in better condition had the Target company used bubble wrap. Instead they used wrapping/shipping paper. I would suggest that all Target stores/warehouses use bubble wrap to prevent this from happening again or else you risk losing customers.

This set improves on the long list of HOGWARTS EXPRESS trains in every way. 1st, it gives 2 (albeit shorter) passenger cars vs 1, and their proportions are ok because of the small windows, which make the scale look better. 2nd, the locomotive and tender are small but very nicely shaped. Older models were usually very tall or blocky, and this one does not have that issue. 3rd, the station is by far the best one, and is a great station even in a City layout. With a detailed interior including amenities like a toilet, phone, fireplace, and artwork, the station is very cozy and looks great on display. Finally, you get track unlike older models, which looks great connected to the station. Overall, this is an excellent model for play or display. The only downside is the minifigure short leg piece, which I dislike since they can't sit down in chairs. Do not miss this model before it retires, especially if you find it on discount.

Did this set as a sort of countdown to Christmas (although there are only 8 bags). Used the app to build for the first time and it made it more interactive. It was a fun set to build. It would have been nice if there was steam coming out of the train like the holiday train set has.
