The X-Men Mansion set offers a nostalgic building experience for fans, featuring modular construction that allows for easy access to its detailed rooms. While the minifigures are well-designed, some guests feel the set lacks certain fan-favorite characters and could benefit from a larger scale. Despite some criticisms regarding size and design choices, many guests appreciate the fun build and the numerous Easter eggs that reference the X-Men lore, making it a worthwhile addition to any collection.

    Fun Build, Dandy Construction

This set is a very fun build. The modular construction lets you easily access all of the rooms easily and stage all of the minifigs. There is building damage built into the design that I would have preferred to build out of the design. One wall of the Danger Room is blown out and some of the debris is built into the lawn. Unlike the Avengers Tower or Daily Bugle, it seems this construction is a fixed appearance without the included parts to create a restored appearance. The Sentinal Figure is fine. I would have preferred a little bit more effort into the appearance but the possibility is strong. The Minifig collection is solid. I’m surprised at the absence of fan favorites like Beast or Sabertooth.

    Dream set that falls short

This is a heartbreaker because I really wanted this set to be amazing. If I were to think of a “dream set” from my childhood it would be the X-men Mansion so I was thrilled to get this set day one. Unfortunately, this set falls short of expectations. From the small size of the set to the limited design on the minifigures (no fully detailed figs) I was pretty disappointed. If you’re a die hard X-men fan like I am I would still get the set. But temper your expectations.

    Okie dokie

Okay, I’m totally unfamiliar with Marvel or X-Men. I bought this to convert to a modular building. The build was straight forward with no frustrating elements. The scale is a little small to fit in with other modular buildings. While it probably won’t help with scale, I will buy another set so I can add a floor. The mini-figs are totally not my thing. They look okay, but what do I know about X-Men? Zilch. Nada. Nothing. So, I’ll give the mini-figs to the kids across the street. If building for modular city purposes, you can totally skip the first two bags. Anyway, nice set with coherent instructs and every thing fits.

    Could have been better

This set in my eyes could have been better. While most of the minifigures are great excluding Charles Xavier and Wolverine and the sentinel build is amazing the mansion needed a third floor and less of a front lawn to make more room for the interior but overall I would recommend this to a Lego x-men fan.

    X men

I wish it was a bit bigger, compared to the bugle and avengers tower, it looks a bit out of place in scale, especially for that price

The IKEA build of LEGO sets

I’ve been on an LEGO Marvel kick since getting Avengers Tower. I really wanted to like this set but the build experience has been challenging in a bad way. Most of the upper levels are not built on a base plate so it becomes a floating mess. It feels really unsturdy until I put the final plates of the section on or I connect one side and the other side comes loose, which makes me question the set’s stability. The nice thing is that the minifigures are nice!

    Very Fun Challenge

This set was a very fun build, including several challenging parts. I would say it's a bit overpriced for what it is, but still a great build.

    Itty bitty

The marvel modulars have been nothing short of fantastic (wink wink nudge nudge cough cough Baxter building). but this set just doesn't fully meet the standard of these sets. The daily bugle was one of the best Lego sets of its time and was just mind-blowing. it only made sence to follow it up with another set a year later - the sanctum, which was also absolutely amazing. then following it up with arguably the best Lego building of all time, the avengers tower, really cemented this series of modulars as a fan favorite. the X-mansion, however, barely reaches the standards of these sets. its attrociously over-priced, the Minifigures are rather lack luster, and the set is rather... small. It feels like the set went through some last minute changes. especially when it comes to height. it feels like a third floor was definitely meant to be there. one of the elevators has the word "lab floor one" written on it. which would indicate there would be a "lab floor two". in the instructions, it mentions there being a kitchen in the set, which definitely isn't there. the design of the building in the shows and movies also indicates a third floor, and some of the key rooms from the building are missing. definitely feels like there was originally a third floor before budget cuts were made or something. Though things aren't all bad, the set has some great action peices, and the techniques throughout the build are very well done. its also rather fun to build. And it doesn't look next to the other marvel modulars. (in which I own all of them). so overall, huge flaws, but still manages to be a pretty decent set to get for your collection. I would definitely recommend it if you are into the marvel modulars, or into X-men in general. also, having a wide modular like this one with a sky scraper would be awesome. fisk towers comes to mind especially.

    Disappointed

This is the first set that I have been very disappointed in. I opened the box, come to find out that I had not only one bag that was already opened but I had TWO bags that were already opened. I get to bag 22, so close to being done with the set but of course I’m missing a piece. The frustration and disappointment I feel is ridiculous, especially after the price you have to pay for this set.

    Not Marvelous

Unless you're a die-hard, stone cold marvel geek pass on this set. Half the time building items you will never see, unless you fit the description above.
