Q: What was the condition of the box when received?
submitted by TLN - 2 years ago
A: Received mine today and the actual product box is in great condition. It was shipped inside the larger outer brown box that Lego generally provides on larger sets.

In my eyes it’s the ship that revived Star Wars and Lego have done an epic job with this incredible set. My first UCS set and it didn’t disappoint, from bag 1 -36 it was a truly brilliant build. If you’re a Star Wars fan this is. Must have for you.

The set brings so much fun while building due to some hidden Easter eggs brought into it from the series. It gave a nice difficulty in building, while always wanting to progress into the set. A big win for the designers of this set and a thanks for giving some insights on de build and the amazing packaging!

This has been a long time want for me. Finally got it and it did not disappoint. The build was long but worth it. Was super easy to build and the instructions it came. Only regret is I could only afford one when I bought it.

Really enjoyed the build. Decent size ship at the end too. Bit easier to home than the UCS Millennium Falcon though :)

This is gonna be a pretty honest review, it’s a good build, though I’ve had a few problems with it. First off, is the missing or wrong pieces. Notably the cockpit glass for mine had a duplicate glass piece, and this would be fine, but the missing Lego piece help does not have piece # 6405214 listed as something found in the build, and it being such a prominent part definitely makes it look, bad, and for the price that’s really bad. The other pieces that were missing or had dupes for are smaller and less noticeable, but still had to either use my own supply or the duplicates that seemed to have been added instead of the correct piece. Second is the building instructions, or I guess the actual books, the first two came in pretty pristine condition as they had come in the protective cardboard containers, but the second two both came in a paper bag package? I had opened it super gently but it seems that the edges got roughed up and there was ink marks on some of it. It feels petty, but I do enjoy keeping some of my more favored Lego instructions either out on a book shelf or on a coffee table, and if someone else is looking into it, maybe be prepared. Now for the actual build, it’s good, took a good amount of time to build, most of the techniques are pretty good, though you might have to fix some things later on if you build this, I found that while building larger sections that include long tiles, those sections would start to deform, it was super noticeable while building the landing gear (specifically the part where the landing gear is supposed to retract into) that the 12 stud tiles were bending upward pretty strongly. This is also probably one of the more fragile builds I’ve ever done, and I know it’s a model build, but the cockpit section doesn’t even have connections to keep it in place, it feels real loose in some sections, and while I also get that it’s to reach some of the deeper places, you can also get to those locations through better methods like taking of the wings, it just feels weird how few connection places there are at some junctions Also wished that there were more painted pieces, but seeing as I’ve already found difficulty with one of the few actually printed pieces in the set, that might actually be a good thing. Also tried to add an image like 5 times and couldn’t. Even very gingerly placed it on my beige carpet thinking it might’ve been something in the background, but nope.

Despite what you may think about this set I can confirm it is a spectacular masterpiece. I purchased this set for myself leading up to Christmas. I purchased this set like new on a third party retailer, for roughly just over half the price of its sealed version. The build did take a while and it wasn’t the most fun build but the fun Easter eggs carried me through the building experience. The set looks great on display and I love the mini-figure I just wish the mythrol had a molded to head. Impart from that the set is great would recommend.

It's a fun build and a solid final product. It's sturdy and easy to move without accidentally breaking pieces off which is nice on a bigger set

This set doesn't fly. It is a space ship and from my knowledge space ships fly. This one doesn't. I've had this problem with the venator and the millennium falcon. I've learned from those two to not throw your ship off your balcony thinking it will fly cause it won't. I might have to switch to some knockoff brand
Close to perfection!

Outside of the set stickers and lack of 3D instructions (which became an issue for the rear door), this truly is a phenomenal set.
