Q: Why are you selling this for double the retail price? This is outrageous!

A great kit with superb detail, but after 8 bags (more than it sounds!) The ship has two two internal areas that are just empty space, a d could easily have housed more detailed areas that have appeared in the films. Eg. Medical bay or sleeping quarters (ep V) The bags need sorting into a logical order upon opening them but after this it was a decent build.

My son worked several jobs to save money to purchase this set. Months and months of saving! He is 12 years old and very committed to LEGO...especially Star Wars sets. He was beyond excited to build the Millennium Falcon. It took him about 30 hours from start to finish. He wishes there was a stand from LEGO where he could display it. Is father is going to work on building one for him. What an epic set. Seems like it should fly!

    A Beautiful Build

My wife and I have fallen in love with complex, weekend builds together, starting with the full Hogwarts set. That one took us an entire 3-day weekend. This beast, broke my wife...about halfway through the build she threw in her towel and I finished it, after about 7 days. Massive, complex, and super-rewarding build. Absolutely beautiful, but makes plans to present it in a way that moving it is as easy as possible. Huge, heavy, and delicate. Highly recommended if you know how to handle large Lego builds.

I bought this set a while ago and usually I plan building the moment I get home wether its for later if I’m waiting to buy more sets to accompany it or build straight away. I opened it up to look through and I knew I was going to need a lot of time and space. Unfortunately I broke my shoulder and arm a little while ago and since then I’ve had to use one hand for building but I know this set will need full attention so for the next few months or even year I still won’t be able. But I knew it would be a challenge even getting it into the car involved some thought. On the shelf you see the front of the box and when the shop assistant is edging it out you see it’s just as deep as it is wide. Even buying a set like this is an experience. There has been talk of this set retiring soon and everybody knows what happens when they do.. it will be impossible to get hold of due to postage or pickup if you can locate one and obviously the price will go up like mad. So if you can afford this or see this on offer go for it. To me this looks like one of the best collector series sets there is -it’s not just for display, there are features you can play with, change and a decent amount of minifigures though I thought for a classic themed set they should include an R2D2 minifigure, he’s always with C3PO. There are design changes you can choose like the minifigures and satellite for modern or older period millennium falcons which is nice and like most of the collector series sets there is a good amount of reading material, some history of the millennium falcon and movie related information in the instruction book. Like all big sets you get these white boxes inside which are needed to hold the shape of the box with all that Lego inside and even they are elegantly decorated with graphics and each of the boxes have a classic movie line written on them. In my photos attached I have shown the amount you get inside one of these white boxes but the bags are randomly packed so you have to open them all to gather the numbers you need but the whole set even the packaging is made to be kept and loved by Star Wars enthusiasts. I’ve taken a few photos of the position I am in so far with this set.. not very far unfortunately.. but it’s exciting to even have a look in this box. I can see it’s going to be a long journey and a journey I’m not yet ready for because of health reasons but I can’t wait to start it. My little boy even loves this and I think it would be such an experience to let younger builders in on a set like this to share the journey with and help them learn too. Great to build on your own too if you both the place to yourself but it’s a set you’re going to want to show off at least once. I’d say buy this to anyone before it’s too late. Thank you

This build which I was excited to do is to integrate because I was half way through when part of the set fell off then I was so far in I could not figure out we’re these parts came from the build is so big it’s difficult to know where parts that look alike are In The proper steps . With the smaller builds you can look back and figure it out but with builds so big it’s almost imposible to know we’re these pieces came from and it’s imposible to know how far back I had to go to repair it so I just had to stop. At some point if you need the book to build which most of us do the larger size builds become to big ! To many parts look and are alike the set is just too big !!

Yeah, it's big. It's beautiful. It's incredibly detailed, but man oh man is it ever flimsy and fragile! Just to touch the thing after it has been built, and you'll quickly have parts that are sitting so loosely that they just fall off with a slight breath on them. Many of the top panels are held on by just one flimsy peg or worse, GRAVITY! For the amount that this thing costs, it should have been much sturdier, and the parts and panels should have WAYYYY better attaching points that are on there solidly. The floor of the set feels like it's barely hanging on for dear life, and the top panels are held on by the weakest attachment points you could imagine, if they're held on at all. If I could go back in time, I'd tell my younger self to not purchase this set because it needs some serious overhauling to make it more solid. I know some might say, "Well glue it together", but I refuse to use "the craggle" on a LEGO set. The set should stick together itself solidly.

We're sorry you're having trouble keeping your set together. Sometimes there may be a piece just a little off from where it should be. You’ll also want to make sure that all the pieces are pressed tightly together. Feel free to reach out to us at LEGO.build/Service-BV if you need assistance!

    My first BIG Lego

After day dreaming forever about owning the iconic Millennium Falcon, I finally picked it for myself and I have zero regrets. The build itself is split into 17 sections all with 5/6 bags full of Lego. I would spend a relaxing Sunday afternoon completing a section with a cup of tea! This personally made it worth the money as this build lasted me over 3 months. From previous reviews I can see people had parts missing, that was not the case for me. Attention to details is key with these big builds! Make sure your put the technic pieces in the right places to avoid any headaches down the line. Talking about attention to detail - Interior is just as good as the exterior. The different rooms with the details is amazing. The panels are loosely placed on. If you take them off, your either need to put the back in the same sequence to make sure they all fit back how they should. I’ve managed to wall mount mine using a designed fixture which I’ve 3D printed. With some slight modifications to the panels to make sure they don’t fall off, this looks amazing in the office! I would 100% recommend but only if you’ve got the space to display!

    Fragile, Inventive, Cautionary

Having completed the 9,090 piece Titanic I set my sights on one of my favorite Star Wars ships, the Millennium Falcon. The build includes incredibly inventive build methods and unique pieces, with very little repetitive work. The ingenious build does leave a bit to be desired in order or assembly, fragility, and complexity. My biggest word of caution: If at step 126 the front of your MF is in any way bowed...stop and re-examine how you got there. The genius clipping mechanism lulled me into thinking this slight bowing was fine and allowed for some flexbility in the build. 500+ steps later I was proven wrong and taking the ship apart, thankfully mostly in large component chunks until I'd worked my way back to step 126 where I found what seemed like a minor mistake that completely altered the build going forward. This isn't a build for anyone with a sense of slapdashery or lack of focus. And when it comes to building the ship's bottom and top components, be aware that they don't snap into place, but overlap one another slightly, often loosely, which makes moving this beast an even bigger cautionary tale. As such the landing gear are some of the weakest parts of a somewhat fragile build, thus making mounting or displaying that much more careful. The details are spectacular, and once I solved my error and rebuilt the components, the remaining aspects of the build highlighted a build that was challenging, genius, but cautionary. The final product is a stunning replica of science fiction movie ship history. Getting there is a potential tale as cautionary as the movies themselves.

Really enjoyed the challenge and scale of this build and had looked forward to buying this for years. Sadly, considering the cost, I feel that the quality control at the factory is rubbish! During the whole build I had 5 missing parts which each took up to two weeks to arrive. This really slowed down the build and took away from the building experience. Rather poor Lego

Best building experience ever, fantastic showpiece

This is the best Lego set I have ever built. It's huge. It takes a lot of time, patience, and attention to build. It requires space to display it. But once you've dive in, from the first step to the last, it is an absolutely incredible building process. I stretched it out and spent 1-2 hours per day for a month, which made the cost worth it. The building techniques are so unique, and it's a lot of fun to see how it all comes together. In the end, you've got the best Millennium Falcon model you could have. The level of detail is astonishing and really rewards looking at it up close. I recommend displaying it vertically on the Efferman MOC stand for maximum effect. So happy I got this, worth every penny both for the building experience and for the fantastic showpiece you have at the end. Five stars, hands down the best Lego experience I've ever had, and I've been building Legos for over 30 years. Get it, you won't regret it - just make sure you have the time and space to build it and somewhere to display it! And a light kit and display case really make it pop if you want to show it off. Thanks, Lego, for making such an awesome set.

    A big flimsy build

Wanted to build this one for a while. For the size and price I expected a more thought out construction process but the sections of the build can be annoyingly flimsy and weak. Multiple times during the build, parts there were attached earlier would pop off when adding another component. Moving it after completion if not and easy task either.

I was so excited for this build. Digging in, found the set challenging and full of detail. That being said, I am a little disappointed at how the panels seem to just “float” on top of other panels not really being attached at all. This makes the ship very fragile. I enjoy the smaller falcon better which has the hinged panels for opening. It’s also a lot cheaper.

This set was one I wanted for several years. I finally splurged to treat myself. I wish I didn't. The build was fantastic but I cannot move it from my table. Every time I try it falls apart. The structure and integrity of the set is just so disappointing for the money. My excitement turned to frustration and disappointment. Watched countless videos trying to solve the issue but I cannot. Perhaps this one is just defective and others are better but I'm extremely disappointed in this set I've been waiting for years to buy.

This set is enormous. Yes, I know the piece count is huge, and so you expect something sizeable. And you can see in pictures that it's big. But you cannot, and I truly mean you CANNOT, appreciate the sheer scale of this thing until you're sitting with it in person. It is simply gargantuan. It is also stunning. In my opinion, this set better than any other blends smooth tiles and studded plates (or partially studded modified plates). Smooth tiles and other surfaces allow for the model overall to look a little less "fuzzy" than a fully-studded model, like the older Falcons, but keeping some studs on display gives a visual impression of the rough-and-tumble nature of the ship itself. It's brilliantly done here. Do I wish it had more interior detail? Maybe, although honestly, the interior details we DO get are pretty consistent with how much of the inside of the Falcon is ever actually shown on screen. It's a little confusing to remember how to access those interiors once the model is complete, though. The build experience is a little overwhelming. Lego build processes have come a long, long way since this set was released in 2017. Newer sets have much smaller piece counts per bag; more numerous and more manageable stages with only one or two bags per stage; and instructions broken out across several books. Consider this: Rivendell has 1374 fewer pieces than the Falcon, broken across three instruction books and 49 bags. The Falcon has only seventeen "bags", many of which are actually several large bags in a single stage. And the massive ring-bound Falcon instruction book is, frankly, not nice to use. It's beautiful, sort of interesting to look at, and has some great behind the scenes info and details within it: but hefting all ~3 kilograms of that thing around for page after page after page is just awful. But that doesn't really matter, because in the end, this set is on another level altogether. If you have the budget, you won't be disappointed.
