For the empire!

Great experience with some headaches here and there. It can be frustrating to attach some pieces as others fall off in the process especially in tight spots. My manual was also missing pages which was unfortunate. Still the Tie pilot with the arm printing is the real highlight and over all feel of the set is sold. My biggest disappointment is not being able to the interior after applying all those stickers. It looks really cool with all the screens but it’s a missed opportunity visually. Lego did their best to round out the center position but it misses the mark a bit on the front side panels.

I really enjoyed building this set and it looks great on display. the mini fig looks great, and the cockpit is very detailed. my only complaint is the price but that's to be expected with lego.

Worst build I’ve ever done

While this is designed to LOOK good, this is such a flimsy build. I’ve built over 40 sets, mostly large ones. This is without a doubt the worst set I’ve ever experienced as far as build durability goes. The stand is the primary issue, as any imbalance (such as when you’re mid build between alternating wing sections) stresses the very weak stand until it pops. At some point, I also had the entire cockpit explode when I was putting on a wing. I had to go back hundreds of steps and figure out what I could salvage without disassembling the entire cockpit to start it over. Ultimately, the only saving grace on this was strategically placed super glue in several places on the stand, cockpit, wing pylons, and tips/edges of the wings. All that said, it’s a beautiful set. Just don’t ever touch it once it’s built. Otherwise you’ll end up spending an hour or two rebuilding and reattaching parts and pieces.

Looks amazing, not great playability

First off I love this set and yes I know that UCS sets are not going to be purchased for the playability, but I am a firm believer that you should be able to play with it if you so chose. This set’s build experience was amazing and not that repetitive even with the 4 wings. It also looks amazing on display. However my gripe is that whenever you pick this thing up to play with it pieces fall off and in some cases the wings will fall off. I’ve rebuilt this set 4 times because it has either fallen off a shelf or crumbled in my hand. If you don’t plan on playing with it I think this set’s is perfect, but if you do, you’re not going to be able to play with it very long because it is probably gonna break.

Well, this was my first UCS Lego purchase and I have to say I was not disappointed at all! This really is a great looking set once complete, with a great amount of detail that really shows. The build was very enjoyable, the only repetitive part was building the wings, however this is to be expected with this type of model. It should be noted it is a fragile model and care should be taken when assembling the wings to the body. Overall I am really pleased with the set and looking forward to purchasing my next USC set!

It's a love-hate relationship with this one

I bought this set for my May the 4th for myself. Wanting it for a while but, it's pricey for a toy. Finally pulled the trigger and bought it. I finished the set once. It looks phenomenal as a finished set on my counter. Everything I touch it something breaks. I had to take it apart once because two screens in the cockpit fell off. The third time the whole thing literally crumbled in my hand and broke into four sections as I was finishing it. I'm about to glue everything into place.

Set looks good on display, however, the wings are poorly attached. The wings fall off very easily along with many peices.

UCS Tie Interceptor

This was a set that I wanted since it came out, and I finally did pick it up on February of this year. I very much enjoyed the build of this set, and the use of different colours that go into the inner structure as well! It is also very nice that we get a printed plague, as well as a mouse droid and exclusive pilot minifig. The attention to detail on the area behind the wings is very cool, as well as the use of shovel pieces at the front. Though there are many plusses to this set, there are sadly some flaws too. My main issue with this set is how fragile it is. I have had it break and fall over many times since finishing the build, and even when I have picked it up from the cockpit, I have had side panels fall off a lot! I also picked up the retired UCS Tie Fighter from 2015 to compare it with, and found that the overall building techniques and durability of that set are far superior to this one. However that being said, the design and smoothness of the cockpit for this set is an improvement compared to the blocky looking exterior of the retired 2015 set. Overall, I would recommend this set to anyone that is a fan of the original trilogy, and if you do own the 2023 UCS X Wing, this one pairs very nicely with that!

The Worst UCS

The worst UCS set I have built. The build itself leaves a-lot to be desired. It's very repetitive, and underwhelming. Some of the connections are very fragile, and found myself back tracking to see where to put pieces that came off, back on every time I snapped a wing on. With connections not being strong, there is virtually no playability with this set.

This build almost made me have a breakdown especially when it got to putting in the wings at every go the rickety stand broke damaging the whole thing. The build itself is only held to gether by single studs. Stay far far away

Beautiful Display Piece, Fragile Build

First off, this set is a beautiful work of art and looks very cool on display. However, the building experience itself was disappointing. Several parts, such as #421183 and #4558955, don't fit securely together, leaving noticeable gaps and wiggle room for all four scoops (#6210601). Additionally, the wings aren't attached securely, making the build feel fragile. The stand is also poorly designed—the angle positions the ship too high, and it doesn't feel stable enough to confidently display. Given the price point, I expected higher quality, better stability, and a more reliable stand. Overall it is one of the most frustrating builds I've done so far.

Tie interceptor

Started out as a good build. Just had the wings to go and that's when it went down hill. The stand is flimsy and has trouble supporting the weight. I got one flap on and it fell over. Tried several times. Every time the same result. Pieces would pop off. Put the pieces back on and try the wing again. And same thing would happen. After several tries and becoming extremely frustrated I decided to return the tie interceptor to the store where purchased.

Unblanced and Heavy

This was a gift from my wife for Christmas. After making the Millennium Falcon I was really looking forward to making and displaying Tie Interceptor. It looks impressive on the box. the build started very well, until you get to put it on the stand and try to add the wings, the model than becomes unbalanced and too heavy for the stand. The pressure required to attached the wings to the main body cause parts to either fall off or collapse or over balance at which point the stand disintegrates. I have repeatedly had to rebuild various parts, which has become tedious. I have lost count of the times I have have tried to complete this project so much so that the model less wings is on display and the wings are in the boxes waiting for my patience to return, I am now seriously considering using glue to attached the mounts to the main support before attaching the wings again. This is a very disappointing Lego experience and if it cannot be completed than it becomes an obsolete waste of time and money. These issues must have been identified at the time of design and trial building so why they were not sorted out then is beyond comprehension.

The stand is terrible. It’s supported by the equivalent of chop sticks and you put it down on the stand with one of the sides missing or it will completely fall over. While building this I was missing multiple small pieces but it wasn’t end of the world because I took pieces from they sets but still a real annoyance that took me 10 minutes each time I had to look for a missing piece. The set completely crumples if you so much as sneeze on it. I’m not kidding I had this thing on my dresser and I accidentally hit the front of it and a piece from the back end of it came flying off. I have no idea how but it just did. Oh when your set decides to break at some point (it will) good luck trying to fix it again because you will in some way destroy more pieces of the set that you had no idea where they even were from on it. This set is just a massive headache to deal with.

Stand and wings fell apart multiple times near the end. Applying pressure in the wrong place will likely break something. Wings are fragile. I hated assembling this.
