This fishing game offers a nostalgic experience for families, providing fun and engagement for children and adults alike. However, many guests have noted that the game spins too quickly and the fish mouths do not open wide enough, making it challenging for younger players. Despite these concerns, some guests appreciate the quality of the pieces and the enjoyment it brings to family game nights. Overall, it can be a delightful addition to playtime with some adjustments needed for younger children.

    frustrating game

the game is very frustrating for young players, the mechanism that moves the fish is incredibly loud, and the fish get jammed easily. do not recommend.

    Pick a better game

Wish I would have read the reviews before I bought this game. My kids love this type of game but as previous reviewers stated that fish’s mouths barely open. Played twice and then the whole game kept locking up and making loud noises. Not even worth $9. So sad I bought this game, what a waste.

    Too Tough for Littles

The game I remember as a kid was magnetic which assisted toddlers in catching the fish. This game has a barrel like shape at the end of the non-flexible poles that you supposed to stick in the animals mouths to catch them. Problem is the mouths barely open and do so infrequently; so catching the fish is hard for myself let alone a toddler.

    Now Dollar Store Quality

I played this game as a kid and loved it. I bought it for my toddler a couple of years ago and it was fun. It seemed like it was made cheaper than when I was a child but everything is these days, sadly. We ended up giving our game to a friend and never got it back. That was about two years ago. So we repurchased the game and I don’t know what happened over two years time but the quality of this game is now abysmal. The fish don’t open their mouths and they’re made of cheap plastic that has multiple defects. The motor spins too fast or not at all and keeps getting jammed. It’s almost offensive how bad the quality of this game has become and I’m sad my kids won’t grow up with the quality we had when I was a kid.

    Terrible game

I really thought this would be like the game I played when I was little, but no… it spun WAY too fast. The mouths of the fish barely opened. I couldn’t even catch them, let alone my child. This game is terrible. Don’t waste your money.

Too fast & fish mouth do not open enough

I’ve grown up on this game & bought multiple brands for people. This one has been the worst so far. The fish in this one don’t open their mouth near wide enough & it spins WAY too fast for a kid. The adults could barely even catch a fish.

    Regretting every minute

Absolutely not the game O had as a kid. Fish don't open their mouth, no magnet to attach to, all pieces are EXTREMELY cheap plastic. Don't buy, returning. if I can't return because my toddler ripped the box, it's being thrown away.

    High level stress game...

OMG… the anxiety/stress I felt while playing this game was out of control. At first, it would go around in a full circle and then just stop which was super annoying and thought I was going to have to return the game. I then decided to just dump all the fish out and put them back in and the “pond” never stopped once during the duration of the game. However, it spins so fast it’s near impossible to catch any of the fish for me a grown adult let alone my toddler. My toddler refused to let me give up and cheered me on as I spent what seemed like an eternity trying to catch these tiny animatronic fish who barely popped their head up let alone open and close their mouth for longer than a split second. This is where my toddler struggled when she finally was able to catch a fish, but couldn’t pull it up in time would lose the fish. So she turned from competitor to cheerleader. Normally, after a game she always begs to play again… there was none of that.

Dont buy this. Find an alternative version.

The quality of the pieces of this game seem good upon opening the box. They are all made of plastic, which is to be expected, but it doesn’t seem too bad of quality for the $9 I paid. However, the box says this is for ages 4 and up. Unless your 4 y/o has the fine motor skills of a surgeon and a snake catcher combined, they will only catch maybe two fish every 30 minutes. It took me at least 10 minutes to catch all the fish, and I had to cheat to do it. Despite the pieces seeming to be of a good quality, it seems that the rotating wheel malfunctions and doesn’t allow the fish to open their mouth all the way or for very long. I recommend finding an alternative fishing game like this. My kid lost interest quickly after not really being able to play.
