I did not realize at the time of purchase that this only comes with 3 character pawns. Most other versions of chutes and ladders come with 4 character pawns.

New design is terrible.

I bought this today to play with my 3 yr old granddaughter. She has started to really love playing board games and card games. This game is terrible! The board is so small now that the spaces are too close together. It was hard for her to figure out where to place her game piece. I had to show her every time and she loss interest after about 20 minutes. The game pieces are just paper inserted into a plastic base. This is disappointing that hasbro has ruined what used to be a fun board game.

Disappointing

Board is hard for littles to understand and character pieces are disappointing cardboard cutouts and none of the pieces look like my kids. Is it too crazy to ask for a variety of skin options like we do for makeup? Time to go thrifting and find an old version of the game.

Unplayable

The layout in this version is impossibly confusing for the age group this game is for. Constant headache to play what should be and typically is a simple game. The game pieces are oversized, barely fitting on each place which only makes it more difficult to see where you are if you accidentally place it slightly off the place which young kids will do exactly every turn. Only 3 game pieces is a similarly head scratching decision made by the design team. Is the usual 4th game piece too expensive to add while keeping it affordable? I really doubt it. A truly bizarre and disappointing experience.

Busy Graphics -Confusing looking to children

As an early childhood teacher, I find the graphics to be a hindrance to the learning styles of young children. The squares are wavy and it is difficult to see the numbers. It looks nothing like the original at all. The last thing children need is busy graphics. They need a place for the eyes to rest so they can refocus their attention. This board has so much stimuli they can’t find where they are supposed to put their game piece.. It’s going back and I’m finding the original graphics game if I have to go to the moon!

Terrible busy board layout

Board is too small and too convoluted for it to work for a child’s visual experience. The pieces are cardboard insert characters that will Easily be ruined. They lost interest due to wanting to go all over the board. Terrible layout - don’t waste your money.
