Book Synopsis

Lift is the story of why some people succeed beyond their wildest dreams while others, equally talented, sputter and fail. Cunningham's interviews with Nobel laureates, four-star generals, heads of state, and Fortune 500 CEOs revealed three forces that propelled their remarkable lives beyond anything they could have achieved on their own.

From Warren Buffett to Michael Phelps, John McCain, Nikki Haley, and General David Petraeus, and nine others, Cunningham found the same three forces at work in every extraordinary life:

The Law of the First: The mentor, coach, or parent who sees what you could become before you do.

The Power of Tight Circles: The foul-weather friends who stand by you when the world stops listening.

The Rules of the Room: T the inner compass you carry from one stage of life into the next, long after the teacher is gone.

Perfect for readers of Outliers and Range, Lift combines Malcolm Gladwell's storytelling with exclusive interviews and a framework you can use. Former Forbes publisher Jeff Cunningham reveals why connected communities found in certain neighborhoods, teams, and cultures elevate ordinary people to extraordinary heights, and how to find the one that will do the same for you.
