NEW MODEL WITH NO SPRING SUCKS!
When we adopted our baby cat in 2018, we bought our very first Genie and it was amazing. Great quality, sturdy plastic, and most importantly,... THE SPRING LOADED MECHANISM locked the smell away. This new piece of junk you have to push it in and it doesn't block the smell completely.

I hated this product, it was terrible. It falls apart when carrying it, and the open that you slide out while scooping the litter in is a terrible design and feels so flimsy. I wish I could return it. Its not worth the amount I paid for it. Its a shame because I liked the original one I bought.

New design flaws
New design doesn’t come with spring loaded mechanism. The new design also doesn’t latch on the same way causing the genie to open easily, the scooper pail and scooper to all fall off when transporting. I previously used for my indoor/outdoor stray and the handle placement + design changes have all made transporting this inside and outside at night difficult. Returning and looking for a new option.

Not as good as the old model
Trap door no longer spring loaded. Made of much cheaper plastic than the one that lasted me from 2019-2026. This one is cheap and flimsy and does not hold in odor as well. Quite a shame

This is one of the most easiest ways for me to take essential care for my cat. I am not intending to exaggerate here, and I really think this helps people and have some relief too. When I see a clump in my cat's litter, I place the clump into the Litter Genie (right next to the litter box), and save energy and spare from using multiple litter bags throughout the day, also unfortunately not cleaning the clumps as much within the same day or two. This is why I love the Litter Genie, and I was not paid to write this review, nor am I expecting credit from them or Target. I find relief knowing I can easily and quickly take care and keep my cat's health on top, as soon as I see a clump in his litter box. Give yourself the ease, energy-saving, and fresher way to keep your cats healthier.
