A: It’s a laser. So no trouble on surfaces unless you have a high pile carpet. The light might scatter a bit.

I got this for my cat . He loves laser pointers. The laser pointers I had gotten for him before did not have a bright red dot. This toy does and he knows now when I get it he is ready to play. It is a cute mouse shape with features made into the it. The little pink heart is the nose, and you push it down for the red dot to shine out between the mouse's little ears.

All It Needs Is Longer Lasting Batteries
My cats love these. When it’s brand new the light is excellent, and it stays like that for a while. Eventually the light gets dimmer and that’s when I know it’s time to get a new one. I have to replace them a few times a year but they’re pretty cheap so I think it’s worth it.

Eroded batteries couldn't see light
Tried turning it on and the light wouldn't even come on to where you had to look directly at it to see if it was on. Opened it up to change the batteries and found them to be completely corroded and stacked together instead of one solid battery. Awful design.

Terrible priduct!
this laser light is terrible. There is no strength in the light and it doesn't throw very far. the light dot is so small it's hardly noticeable. you need to be in pitch dark to notice the light and it doesn't show up on soft surfaces very well. I will be returning this product and will buy a basic laser pointer instead.
