Description
Our clothes are in constant contact with bacteria throughout our day-to-day activities, for example through contact with contaminated surfaces, other people and our own bodies. Q: I watched my laundry cycle. My rinse cycle is only 13 minutes. So according to Lysol my clothes are not sanitized. If I pause the load the water will eventually start to drain. Any suggestions?

Lysol Laundry Sanitizer is formulated to be used in the rinse cycle without additional additives, such as fabric softener. Lysol Laundry Sanitizer provides a limited softening effect.

Q: Do I STOP the rinse cyle with clothes submerged in water, put it in and let clothes soak for 16 minutes and push start on the cycle once the 16 minutes is up? OR, just put it in and let it be?

A: Based on what I read (I haven't used this product yet) you can do the first option you mentioned or put it in the fabric softener compartment. You can also add it in to soak for 16 min before washing.

Q: Would this product be effective if I added it to the drum of the washer by itself, agitated, then stopped and let it soak, then let it rinse. Then did a SECOND wash with detergent alone?

A: It is best to follow the usage instructions for the best results. Allow for clothes to be washed by your detergent first, then add Lysol Laundry Sanitizer directly to the rinse cycle. You can let it soak for 15 minutes.

Q: How do I add it to the rinse cycle? My building has big commercial washers. I don't think it says which cycle it's in, and I don't think I can stop it once it's started.

I love using it on our sheets and bath towels! My husband prefers the unscented while I like fresh scents so I went and purchased a large bottle of the fresh scents Lysol Sanitizer . A little bit goes a long way. Our sheets and towels smell fresher and look whiter even though there is no bleach I felt like my towels were cleaner. My daughter takes a blanket to school and brings it home weekly. I feel much better washing it knowing it's getting disinfected and all the germs out because we all know school can be a pretty germy place. I definitely would recommend Lysol Laundry Sanitizer.

You might be able to tell by the pic, but sadly the bottle did leak everywhere even when in a ziplock bag during shipping. I suggest if you can to get this in person instead of via mail because then you can see if the bottle/packaging is leaking on a store shelf. But there was still enough in the bottle for me to get multiple uses out of! To be honest, I was super excited to get this product for review purposes. I've been using it in my laundry since 2020 to help keep my clothes clean after being out and about during lockdown. Since this is a sanitizer, it is meant to help kill any bacteria that gets on our clothes. Not everyone thinks you need a product like this, since the hot water can kill bacteria on clothes during a wash cycle, but I often have delicates that I can't wash in hot water. Plus people might not always realize, smells can get into our towels, blankets or clothes due to bacteria. So using something like this, even when fragrance free, helps get rid of the smell in your laundry which is why I use it and fully recommend this to others to try out. In high school I realized that some of my eczema issues fresh out of the shower were due to the scented anti static sheets my mom would use on the towels. Thanks to a fragrance free product like this getting rid of the must scent towels can get from not fully drying before washing, I no longer need scented dryer sheets to combat that! This is not only fragrance free, but also free of colorants which can also sometimes irritate people's skin, and free of bleach. They also have a sport formula for athletes because they know athletes sweat a lot more than the everyday person and need a little extra oomph to get out that sweat smell. I haven't tried that version since the plain one makes a big enough difference with my clothes. I highly recommend this one!

The wash comes out feeling clean and the smell of the clothes after washing is nice. It comes in an easy to pour spout with measuring cup which is always nice. I used this on my dog towels and my kids dirty shoes and everything washed up nicely and smells fresh. I like that it can be used on whites and color without worrying about bleach. A little goes a long way and I would keep this on hand when you need to clean up soiled sheets and clothes.

As a mom to a little one, this is great for disinfecting sheets and blankets when there's an illness in our house too.
