A: I put in fabric softener with this directly into the same dispenser :) I’ve never had any issues! I normally put in the odor remover first then the fabric softener and it’ll wash it all down

A: NO, according to the manufacturer, Chlorox, YOU CANNOT. To be effective, it must be put in the rinse cycle, ALONE, with no other additives, either by opening the washer and adding it by hand at the start of the rinse cycle, or by putting it in the fabric softener dispenser, by itself, so it will automatically release during the washer's rinse cycle. For all of you who fail to correctly follow the manufacturer's instructions for sanitization, and then even pass your own incorrect instructions to others, you are not sanitizing your wash. You are just fooling yourselves into thinking you have sanitized your laundry. It does not work in the wash cycle!!! Adding it to the wash cycle does not sanitize your clothes. The wash cycle water dilutes the product to the point that it is no longer effective. You might as well just pour it down the drain. If this product worked in the wash cycle, then the instructions would have stated that it is okay to add it to the wash cycle. It only sanitizes in the RINSE cycle, when added by itself with nothing else, where it remains less diluted and therefore still effective at killing germs. Everyone who advises to put in the wash cycle should be ignored. They don't have a clue what they are doing. Their laundry is NOT disinfected and they are just pouring the money they paid for this product right down the drain.

A: I have a top load washer & it locks during the rinse cycle. I have no fabric softener compartment. How can I use this in the washer?

A: Julia, thanks for checking with us. We recommend using it in your fabric softener compartment since you can't add it directly to your rinse cycle. You can also use 4 capfuls of Laundry Sanitizer in 1 gallon of water and submerge and soak items for 15 minutes. Then, rinse thoroughly with clean water or machine wash as directed. Hope this helps! You can add the appropriate amount of Clorox FreshGuard Laundry Odor Remover to your machine’s fabric softener dispenser or directly to rinse cycle. Additionally, you may pre-treat with our Clorox 2 for Colors Laundry & Fabric Stain Remover, using the cap to pour the solution directly onto the fabric or apply with a clean towel until the stain is covered.
