Description
Our clothes are in constant contact with bacteria throughout our day-to-day activities, for example through contact with contaminated surfaces, other people and our own bodies. Bacteria can spread from one fabric to another in the laundry basket, from the washing-machine drum to the next load. Some of these bacteria can survive following the wash cycle. When it comes to certain laundry loads such as children's clothes or sportswear, you want to eliminate bacteria that may cause illnesses and create lingering bad smells. I have a lot of allergies and so do others in my home and that’s always a concern trying new laundry products, but this has not caused any problems.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used this primarily for towels. I noticed that it removed the musty scent that existed on some older towels that I’ve just used as dog towels. You must add it to the rinse cycle so if you don’t have a washer with multiple places to put different detergents, it can be kind of difficult to get it in there on time. I just did an extra rinse and spin cycle at the end. The only reason I used 4 stars is because you have to use quite a bit (2 caps) per load. You would go through it very quickly if you’re using it for everything. It’s not terribly expensive, so that’s a plus. Overall, I definitely noticed a difference and will use this product again.

Sometimes though that means an off smell from bacteria growth. This laundry sanitizer is meant to be used in conjunction with laundry detergent, just add it in the fabric softener compartment. It can be used for both whites and colors. The 21 ounces will last at least six months making it a better value.

I love to use sanitizer especially in my darks cold water wash since we use unscented detergent that sometimes needs a little help to eliminate tough odors. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As an avid thrifter and a self-aware sweaty kid (listen, I run warm—what can I say?), I need something that truly gets my clothes feeling sanitized and fresh. After using the Lysol Free & Clear Laundry Sanitizer on a few loads, I can confidently say it does a pretty decent job. Most of my clothes come out smelling clean and feeling refreshed—which is no small feat considering how long some thrift finds sit in mystery bins. That said, there were a couple of personal shirts that still held onto a bit of that musty funk (don’t worry, they’re not ones I’m reselling 😅). But overall, I’m impressed! I especially appreciate that it’s free of dyes and fragrances, so it’s gentle on skin while still helping knock out germs.
