Heavy metal/corrosive material!
Beware! Although this is an aesthetically pleasing mortar and pestle, we experienced a potentially dangerous situation. I used this to grind up my 7 month old’s chicken. Shortly afterwards, I heated it up in the microwave and within 2 seconds it made popping noises as if something was going to explode. In examining the item, it seems like there are minuscule flecks of heavy metals or some kind of corrosive. If the sole purpose is for decoration, then this is the item for you. But if you’re planning on actually using it, LOOK ELSEWHERE!
