It is sturdy, doesn't shake, easy to assemble, took about an hour. best for a office or study nook in bedroom. The wood grain is smooth, not rough, gives it a nice clean look. It was easy to put together, but I recommend having two people to hold the pieces and I highly recommend a drill with a bit that will fit the screws. They wrench provided will work, but it is a lot of manual tightening. We did it manually, but if you have the drill bit that fits the screws I would use that. It is a drill bit for an allen wrench. The finish on the desk is nicer than I expected. It is a nice flat black and looks great. It was smooth and thick and looked really good right out of the box. The two shelves are handy to store items on while working. The desktop provides a lot of space for my monitor and files to use while working. Overall this is a great desk for working at home.
