Maui Jim Red Sands Rectangular Sunglasses

Super lightweight that gives the impression of cheaply made. Add some heft.

As many other reviews mention on here, the lenses scratch way too easily. I've had to send my glasses back 3 times now in as many years. I store them properly and only use their cleaning cloth to remove smudges but as soon as they come close to anything they scratch and you can't see through the lens. At the price point of the glasses and the cost of repairs, they really need to up their game on quality. Glasses fit well and I love them which is why I keep repairing, but it's probably time to find another manufacturer that fits me as well as these since the lens material is of such poor quality.

I had a pair for 5 or so years and they finally broke. I decided it was time for a new pair. I love how lightweight they are. I have photophobia so I’ve always have them on top of my head ready to put on.

I went through a lot of Maui Jims in different colors, mirrors, and styles before settling on this one for my larger face. The brightness control was best in the blue mirror for me and these sit light on the face while providing the extra coverage I wanted. I haven't noticed any undue scratching like others seem to have shared, but I take care not to put mine in "dangerous" situations. I paid a little more for these than I wanted, but overall I am satisfied with these glasses.

Cheap quality. Lenses scratch easily and now the surface of the frames are peeling off. I wouldn't buy these again

I love the pair of eyeglasses that I got. It is lightweight and works well with my eyes. Highly recommended!

If you want a nice heavy aluminum frame go with Ray-Bans but if your looking for light weight and far superior lens go with Red Sands. I have the matte black/neutral gray, grey tortoise/neutral grey and the matte black/red lava. Simply the best lens! Family loved them so guess what they got for Christmas. That's right, Red Sands. Almost forgot, these are perfect for big head/faces like mine.

I have several pair of Maui Jim’s and they never disappoint. These are now my everyday glasses and as a Manchester United supporter, I love the partnership and wearing the United frame.

This is the second pair of these glasses. They fit is perfect for my high cheekbones and super lightweight! The purple lens makes everything (especially the ocean) so much more beautiful. I love these sunglasses!

I did not like the Maui Jim Red Sands glasses. I did not realize the nose grips were not part of the frame like my previous two pairs of Maui Jim’s. The price was comparable to what I’ve paid before but these glasses seemed to be cheaply made, not the same quality at all. The nose grips get caught in my hair when I put the glasses on my head. I was very disappointed and I returned the glasses. I did like the color of the glasses.

My favorite pair of Maui’s at this time. The frame is super lite, Lens have blue tint on top and brownish tint on the bottom. It brings out the best colors on sunny days. I enjoy wearing these at the beach, biking or driving. It’s the perfect fit for me. Although pricey as all Maui’s are, hands down worth every dollar. Great product, another satisfied customers.

As at least one other reviewer has noted, these sunglasses are of extremely poor build quality. I was surprised at how cheap it feels. The frame feels flimsy and as weak as sunglasses you might find at a gas station or near the check-out of a budget retailer. The difference is especially noticeable because I ordered this along with the "Onshore" style of Maui Jim sunglasses. The difference is night and day in terms of build quality. You can immediately tell the difference when looking at them, let alone wearing them. I will be returning these.

Love them, they’re great! The lenses are better than any I've ever had before from other leading brands. The comfortability level is so high that sometimes I forget I’m wearing them.

I always purchased another brand and finally decided to buy a Maui Jim. For the price it’s worth every dollar because it is light weight and the outdoor colors are vibrant!

I received my Red Sands Asian Fit of grey tortoise frame and Blue Hawaii lenses (my first Blue reflection) with readers on 6/19/2020 which was 3 days earlier then scheduled delivery date. My new sunglasses fit my Asian face + a big head perfectly and just the right size. The soft nose pads keep the glasses from touching my cheeks and are so soft and comfortable. Japanese designer must have a very detailed mind. The Red Sands glasses are so light that are about 1/3 the weight of my Ray Ban sunglasses. Now I have readers on my Red Sands, I can wear them and read my cell phone messages whenever I want. I wish I have discovered Maui Jim Red Sands Asian Fit earlier so that I did not have to spend so much money on my other 20 plus sunglasses, drug store ones, Ray Ban, Gucci, Versace, etc. and searched for perfect fit sunglasses......BTW, the chat customer service rep explained to me instantly how my sunglasses were being custom-made in lab then shipped. Another perfect score!

I have worn Maui Jim’s for over 10 years now and have always been impressed. I’m not the typical person to spend this kind of money on sunglasses but once you wear Maui’s you won’t want to wear anything else. The quality of lenses used allow you to see things other glasses don’t. For example when driving with my wife I pointed out a dust storm that she didn’t see. I was like how can you not see it it’s huge. Then took my Maui’s off and it was gone. I’ve sent glasses back for repair and always received excellent customer service. The red sands Asian fit have by far been the best fit for me. I have a wider face and head and usually struggle to find glasses that fit just right but these look great, fit well, and feel very sturdy. If you are in the market for good quality sun glasses don’t hesitate to buy Maui Jim’s they will never disappoint!!
