Melissa & Doug Basic Skills Board and Puzzle - Wooden Educational Toy: Fine Motor Skills Learning Toy for Toddlers

We bought this for our 5 year old with cerebral palsy - he has great use of one hand, but only limited use of the other, so he needs extra practice with all of these skills! It's cute and each piece is fine on its own, but the design of it being a puzzle where the pieces come out while you're trying to work on them is not good. It's an extra level of difficulty that a child who needs to work on these skills does not need. It's frustrating to him, as well as our 3 year old. I'm gonna have to figure out how to glue them down or something.

Definitely For ages 3+ because the puzzle pieces come off it’s difficult to snap,button…I think I’m going to glue them down.

This is poorly designed and poorly made. Because each section of puzzle comes out, it is not possible for a child to do many of the activities...tying, for example. Additionally, the poor quality make the tasks very frustrating. The button hole is too small, the zipper does not move, the snap does not close, etc.

Great for kids to start learning how to dress themselves.

Some pieces are just difficult to manipulate, even for me.

My grandson is a curious folder and this keeps him entertained while he is learning skills! Definitely would buy again. Beautiful colors, well constructed. Good value!

Much bigger than I thought it would be, since I didn’t notice the measurements. My 2 year old loves it. Keeps him busy.

A very good learning puzzle for my 2 year old great-grandson.

The package never arrived. Called x2: the first person said they would resend, I waited but nothing happened, when I called again 2nd person said that they can't resend package. I wouldn't have said anything but keep getting emails asking for a review so here it is.

Love this product..My granddaughter is learning all these functions now. Its a very helpful tool.

The idea of it is great but the execution is poorly done.

This basic skill puzzle board is great for toddler motor skill development. I also recommend the Latch Puzzle or Latch Barn.

Very helpful for my twins to learn to snap and button.

A little disappointed in how difficult the button, zipper, snap and belt were to use! It's very stiff and sticky!

I agree with previous statement. It should be a puzzle board or activity board, not both. Bits too hard to do the activities when puzzle pieces keep coming out.

Super cute! Nice, chunky pieces that allow a toddler to practice basic skills. Love it! Good quality too.

I liked the different things it would teach but once I received it I didnt like that it was a puzzle and the pieces were not sturdy. The pieces would fall off or move so it was hard for my child to try to tie the shoe or zip up the zipper. Had to return.

My toddlers are really brushing up on those fine motor skills with this product.
