Q: How does this fold away? Do you need to unscrew anything?

A: Hi Angela! You would just have to unscrew one of the bolt caps on the leg which would allow the red leg brace to collapse so you can fold the easel :)

The final product is solid and sturdy. We did find the instructions problematic; not sure that the parts were labeled correctly. Once put together, it is working exactly as expected!

I am struck by the poor directions. I am a shop teacher. Visual aids are necessary especially when the product is being used by children for safety reasons alone!. I could have bought many different easels but went to M and D for their reputation and paid extra for it. In these reviews, those who are having problems assembling is because they probably put some pieces together backwards. There is no clear indication otherwise. PLEASE redo steps 1 and 2 with a visual that makes sense.

I would love this easel, if we’d actually been able to put it together. The “long” bolts are not nearly long enough to correctly assemble the easel. Unfortunately, we waited until Christmas Eve to do so, thinking, it’s only an easel; how hard could it be? We assembled it incorrectly and my husband drilled new holes so our son would have it for Christmas Day. Buy a different easel, or be ready to go to the hardware store. *I love Melissa & Doug products, but this fell so drastically short.

Product is very low quality. I had to use power tools to fix the incorrectly drilled holes. Only a few were done correctly, most were too shallow or too deep. Definitely not worth the price.

Faulty parts. Unable to put together. Holes on one leg were drilled in the wrong spot, so it can't be completed. This is my son's santa gift for the morning, so I am beyond disappointed.

It got wet and it messed up the box, and Target wants me to return it to get a refund and I can’t , the box is messed up!! So now I am stuck with a mess !!

Assembly is easy following the guide it came with. Design is great with the 3-level adjustable height - little toddler is able to use it - and I thought the trays that it came with is well thought off.

Purchased this for my boys because I liked that it had a magnetic chalk board. Unfortunately, it’s very weak and you can barley use the magnets that even come with it. Takes a while to put together. Overall through for the price, it’s decent.

Once assembled, the easel works well and toddler twins enjoy it. Assembling was a nightmare. Directions are confusing and several of the screws and holes did not match up. We had to get a drill and enlarge one hole, use brute force on others, and just let go for others. Very, very frustrating!!!!
