The toy came completely damaged via shipping. The corner of the wooden box is busted and liable to get a piece of wood stuck in your finger. The padded envelope it was shipped in is not sturdy enough to keep the toy from being damaged in transit.

I got this for my nephew and he absoutly loves it. The only thing that would of made this perfectly perfect would of been if there was some kind of storage bag or something to keep the pieces together.

Keep in mind that a large majority of these reviews are several years old, when the set had more pieces and was nicer quality. What my child received today, I couldn’t believe was Melissa and Doug. The wooden spatula and pizza cutter is not smooth wood- it has wood splinters everywhere. The green plate is transferring paint to their hands. And there are only like 36 toppings- apparently there used to be close to 60. Only keeping because my child would be sad if it disappeared now.

The pizza with the customizable toppings is very cute, but I feel like it wasn't play tested. When the toppings are placed, you cannot cut through the pizza with the slicer it comes with, as they overlap. So the kids struggle and then either take the toppings off just to cut it, or they just pull the slices apart with their hands. The toppings just need to be smaller and this toy would be perfect!
