Some of these…
great back-to-basics toy that engages gross and fine motor skills as well as cognitive skills and problem solving. I love that it's made of wood but is still colorful and fun which keeps my baby's attention. I am laughing at these reviews... #1 on the list is complaining about having to show a toddler how to do something? smh... feel like that's the point when you're raising a child. 2nd place goes to the several of you that are very upset about the lid's ability to slide off. if it's such an issue or your kid is too lazy to keep playing the way it's intended, tape it shut 😱 honorable mention goes to the OCD parent losing it over not including a circle...I just pray the crazy doesn't pass down.

Not made well
Door slides open and does not stay put. How is my kid supposed to use this if she just sees one big side open and figure it’s just easier to put the shapes directly into the box instead of into their corresponding slots. Waste of time and money

It's a good educational product.
Love the box and the colors on the shapes, but the lid is very loose. It falls out when the cube is turned wrong. Should be easy to fix.

Door doesnt stay shut
The door doesn’t stay shut so as the toddler moves the cube around to find the right hole, the top slides off and everything falls back out!

Simple and straight forward. My 1 year old loves to carry the wooden crate around and fill it up with the blocks.

Not great
Bought these in advance. My baby is old enough now that he can start "playing" with the blocks. He has been playing with them on and off for about a week. DISAPPOINTED. Wow, the paint scrapes off very easy, and apparently the wood is soft yet dry and brittle. I took a picture. Waste of money. I wonder what the return policy is because my son will no longer be playing with these.

Love, but..
My son and I love this shape sorter. He caught on so quickly to it! However, it drives me nuts that the shapes that are similar are also the same color ie: the square and rectangle are both green, and the diamond and parallelogram are both yellow. At 1 yo, he gets them easily confused and it frustrates him. They should have been different colors. AND, where is a plain old circle? Disappointing. But other than that, we seriously love this toy!

I would purchase again.
For 16 month old Love that is all wood Love the natural wood color of box;no distractions Love primary colors for shapes Nice & smooth, although the edges could be made rounded. My baby has bruised himself by tripping & falling on it. Also, if the "lid" would not be removable it would be better in my humble opinion. My son just slides it off & tosses it aside. Although, he is still young at 16 months.

Not for little kids
I got this for our 11mo thinking the wooden blocks would help her learn shapes. What happened to squares, circles and triangles? This has a quadrafoil, rhombus, parallelogram, trapezoid, hexagon, pentagon, octagon etc... these are not shapes my baby can differentiate. Plus several very similar shapes are painted the same color so she can’t even figure them out by color. This might be good for a teenager having trouble with geometry but not a baby/toddler. She does like to bang them together and dump them in the box but learning shapes may take some time. I’ll be looking for one a little simpler.

Beautiful. Functional. Ultimate hand-me-down material.
Beautifully made American craftsmanship. Clearly built to last and pass down from child to child, generation to generation. This particular puzzle box is a great way to encourage abstract reasoning, and just plain fun. Highly recommended!

Amazing toy, just needs a guide
My 22 month old loves this. I just wish it came with a guide with shape names because I want to teach her what they are called, but had to Google it! Haha
