Description
The Melissa & Doug Slice and Bake Wooden Cookie Set is a sweet introduction to pretend kitchen play! This colorful cookie set includes 12 wooden, sliceable cookies and 12 cookie toppings, a wooden knife, spatula, cookie sheet, and a kitchen mitt for safe, imaginative play. Your little baker can pretend to slice the cookies, place them on the cookie sheet, make believe they're baking, and then use the oven mitt for the "hot" cookies once they're done. (Note: the toy kitchen utensils are not meant for use with real food or with real kitchen appliances). Then it's decorating time! The 12 "vanilla" and "chocolate" frosting pieces attach to the cookies with self-stick tabs and are painted with yummy-looking sprinkles, candy pieces, and icing patterns, so kids can create a variety of cookies. They can serve the cookies with the included wooden toy spatula. When playtime is over kids can store the cookies in the durable dough tube so they're ready for next time. What a delicious way for kids ages three and older to practice fine motor skills, number concepts, and more, while pretending to bake and serve sweet treats.

A: no...it is for pretend play. the cookies and frosting are made of wood with velcro to stick them together. it's actually really cute and 2 years later, still something my daughters play with.

Cute cookie fun!
Bought this as a gift for my niece. It is really well made, sturdy, and cute. The cookies go in the tube and then you can cut them like the slice off the roll cookies! Bake them on the cookie sheet and then decorate with the frosting and sprinkles that Velcro on top! Very fun and very interactive.

Velcro too strong
The Velcro is too strong on these; too difficult to separate cookies from each other and from the icing pieces. Tube is just flimsy cardboard. Knife/ spatula is too thick for getting between/under cookies. Oven mit sized for an adult. Melissa and Doug toys have not been successful for our family- not sure why so many ppl rave about them. The wood is always chipping and splintering. Dangerous. Expensive garbage :(

My little one has a blast with these in his pretend kitchen! The Velcro holds much better than I expected and the design is clean and both toddler and baby friendly. The cookies are big enough so choking isn't of concern if the parts make their way into a teething babies mouth. This product is a fun way to incorporate counting and matching to develop those motor skills!

Velcro Pieces
This is an adorable set and as always great quality from Melissa and Doug, however, I was a little bit disappointed that the cookies are not magnetic (as I just assumed they were), but rather have Velcro on them to stick to the cookie sheet and also to each other. Not a huge deal, but the Velcro is VERY sticky and my 3 year-old has a hard time with it and gets frustrated that she cannot get the pieces apart. I wish they were magnetic!
