The Rocky BearClaw 1000g boots are great for hunting, but you may want to work in them, too. Regardless of where you wear them, the BearClaw boots are durable, rugged and comfortable. These Rocky boots are made with full-grain leather and tough nylon. They have genuine welt construction and a storm welt for durability, shape-retention and a solid platform for hours of wear. A breathable GORE-TEX fabric membrane keeps moisture out and keeps your feet dry. Rocky added 1000 grams of 3M Thinsulate Insulation to the hunting boots to help keep your feet warm even on the coldest days. The lace-up system is a lace-to-toe pattern with eyelets, D-rings and hooks for maximum adjustment. When you're walking, your feet are comfortable because of Rocky's exclusive polyurethane cushioned Air-Port footbed which also is perforated for air circulation. And, of course, Rocky's own BearClaw 3D outsole has a multi-directional, self-cleaning lug design that grabs the ground to be able to give you traction wherever you walk.     I'd avoid

    Awesome !

    WOW ! These boots rock ! Very comfortable, fit like a glove. Went a half size up as per recommendations. Heavy duty leather and sole. Gore-Tex ! Need I say more. Very toasty and warm with the insulation. Ready to put these to work !!

    Lightweight boots for leather

    Tried them on to make sure they fit and then I mink oiled the heck out of them to waterproof and soften the leather. They are very warm and comfortable, lightweight, have an aggressive sole and seem like they will easily break in. My only gripe and the reason I took away one star is Rocky get rid of the thick leather triangular Rocky badge on the boots upper tongue it interferes with lacing the boot up. I might try to cut mine off.

    Very nice boot

    Got a great deal catching these on sale so I took a chance. My first impression was that they were big boots. I feel any boot with 1000 gram insulation though is going to be big. I've had them a week though and love them. Very comfortable, warm, good leather and a good looking boot. Only slight negative I have is that the tongue is kind of bulky but very happy I bought these.

    Land Surveyor 45 years plus, Best Winter boot made

    i am a Land Surveyor in Virginia. I've. been in my chosen career for 45 years plus. I have Summer and Winter weight boots. I have worn them all. I bought a pair a Rocky Bear claws , 600 grams of Thinsulate and Gore-Tex 4 Winters ago. I'm still wearing them .. Hardly any boot company still uses Gore-Tex? If they don't? Its not waterproof. These are the BEST Waterproof, Insulated boot that I've ever worn, PERIOD! In our line of work? If you get 2 years service you've gotten a fair deal. But 4 years? Don't stop making these boots. Buy a pair, you wont be disappointed.

    Built to Last

    I bought my first pair of bearclaws 14 yrs ago and just now bought a new pair. These boots are the best all around hunting boot with the warmth of a pull-on, flexibility and traction of a high hiker, durable as a work boot, and backed by an American name since 1932.

    Warm, Well made boot but with one issue....

    These are the warmest pair of boots I've ever worn and it's great. They fit a tad small so if you're between sizes, order up. The only downside is the rubber composition of the sole. It's a hard sole, which is great for long wear - You'll probably never, ever wear out this sole. However as the temp drops, the rubber compound gets harder which means it grips less, especially on smooth surfaces or ice. The tread is great in the snow because of the deep grooves, but if you catch an ice patch, watch out.

    Feel large

    Boots look and feel wide. Even for a med width. Have the same in a pair of Danners. 1000gr insulation but Danners dont look and wide and feel large. Maybe a good sitting around boot. Bought it replace my Danners, I Use in the military for winter.

    I got my boots about three weeks ago didn’t have to breaks them in, very comfortable when I put them on and I would buy another pair. I Recommended them to other hunting buddies.

    Ended the season last year with these. Very comfortable and warm. My only gripe would be the sole. Rocky should bring back their “Deer Stalker 1400gram” sole. The compound had more rubber and made it more flexible and gripping.

    One of the greatest boots I have ever owned.

    I have no problem at all with the boots ( Rocky Bearclaws), however they quit making them in my size. I were a size 15 and I am very sure that there are a lot men out there that have the same issue. Being a big guy sucks when you finely find something that works and fits prefect and then they quit making them in your size. I quess I will have to go back to Danner.
