  • A: 55 pieces to make marble runs, 15 marbles

submitted byGnJMilton - 6 years ago

Q: How sturdy is this set? Will it fall apart if a child accidentally bumps it?

submitted by Lori - 1 year ago
  • A: MindWare Marble Run pieces are carefully designed to fit together with tight connections which aids in making a sturdy build. Sturdiness also comes from how you build each run. Building a wide base with multiple support columns will ensure the structure remains strong during continuous play.

Really difficult to keep the pieces together and many don't fit. My nephew was incredibly frustrated and sad trying to play with this. Waste of time and money.

This is not worth the price. Pretty junky, falls apart super easily. No way a child under 8 can do this without an adult.

This turned out to be great for my almost 3 year old! As long as you have the patience to rebuild when it inevitably gets knocked over, this serves as an excellent distraction!

This has been hours of fun. None of the pieces have broken in any way which I was worried about. This thing is fun even without a marble if there are kids too young to be trusted with a marble. There plenty of pieces too. Enough to make a solid maze but not too much to be overwhelming

It’s almost impossible to put together and even if you do put it together it will not stay together. Not stable at all. Probably the worst toy I’ve ever bought. Not worth almost $40 AT ALL. It would be much better if it actually came with instructions and snapped together or something. So disappointed

This is a very fun toy but it does not stay together and isn’t stable. I tried hot gluing the pieces together as well and it didn’t budge. No thanks

I really want to love this for my toddler

3 out of 5 stars
Eashley - 11 months ago
I purchased this for my 3yr old for Christmas and he was so excited and honestly so was I. We started playing around with it and soon found out like many others that it does in fact fall apart easily, my toddler was more frustrated than I was. Even my brothers jumped in and took turns trying to build different runs and they all gave up because it kept falling apart anytime we’d built a decent run. I even built the marble run exactly pictured like the box and it would still fall over and pieces would easily disconnect while trying to connect others. I feel if the ‘male’ pieces were a bit longer they would give a little more support and I’d suggest that the run come with more base supports. It doesn’t matter if I have the run on my table or my hardwood living room floor it still isn’t sturdy. I’m giving 3 stars because overall my 3yr old can easily snap the pieces together himself and he still try’s to play with it granted all the frustration and it’s something that we can do together. For the price I paid I wish it was more lk $19.99 I’ve honestly considered returning it but because my son is infatuated with marble runs I’d feel kind of guilty taking it away despite the disappointments of it all.

Fun educational activity!! Seems like user error for people saying it's falling apart or not standing. Ours is literally standing on carpet. This is our second one, we received as a gift. My boys love it, and spend hours playing with these!

We purchased this for our son. It requires the help of an adult to assemble. Even then it is nearly impossible to assemble, as the pieces do not stay together. I would strongly urge you not to buy this. It’s a piece of junk.

Just bought this for our 3 year old and my husband and I have been trying to put this thing together forever now and it just keeps falling apart lol super frustrating for parents of toddlers who just want to play. Not sure why it doesn’t stay together. Thinking about glueing the dumb thing. If you have patience I’d buy it but it definitely triggers some anger management lol

Marble Run

3 out of 5 stars
Nicole - 2 years ago, Verified purchaser
Always a fun toy but compared to the old one I had as a kid the “male” pieces that help them stick together and connect are too short making it very fragile and frustrating to build. An adult has to be there holding the tower the whole time or it will fall over. They are maybe only 1/4” and need to be at least double that I’d say to give it some more stability.
