Quick Game
I was given this family board game to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. I played with my 6 and 8 year old (my 4 year old also tried, but I had to tell him the moves). The rules were simple to follow and it was very easy to set up. After one round, I had a good understanding how to play and there was no reason to look at the instructions again. My older 2 understood the basis of the game, but struggled finding more advanced moves (double jumping or changing directions when you jumped). Our games lasted about 10 minutes and that was all they wanted to play at the time. They didn’t quite understand the idea of collecting a set of colors. My 6 year old wanted to go after a certain color instead of making sets. It was easy to keep them interfered because the rounds were quick. I’m not sure if this will be the first game that my kids will grab off the shelf, but we did have fun playing it and I appreciate how easy it was to understand. It’s a good game if you have less than 30 minutes to play!

A Top Pick for Playdates and Family Bonding
My family enjoys playing board games, and it has become one of our favorite ways to bond. Although Skippity Game is recommended for ages 5 and up, our four-year-old twins were able to play alongside their seven-year-old sister. They required a little guidance at first, but quickly caught on. Whenever we host playdates, the visiting children always ask to play this game. It’s fun, engaging, and competitive, while still being short enough to keep younger players’ attention—typically no more than 20 minutes. We often group children of different ages together, which encourages collaboration, thinking, and reasoning skills. The game is colorful, enjoyable, and has quickly become a family favorite. I highly recommend it to other families and friends. Thank you to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing us with this wonderful board game.

Skip fast to get skippity
Skippity has quickly become a new family favorite and we owe it all to Stellar Testing Panel for introducing us to the game and allowing us to try it out. Skippity is a checkerboard like game with round play pieces in 5 beautiful colors. The game play starts by randomly covering the board with all of the play pieces, minus the 4 middle squares. The first person must jump one play piece and land on an open square. Game play rotates players and continues in this fashion until there no more moves left to make. As play carries on, more squares open, allowing for multiple jumps in one play. The ultimate goal of the game is to collect all 4 colored game pieces forming a set. The player with the most complete sets wins the game. We played this with ages ranging from 5-50 and each player thoroughly enjoyed the game. The bright colors were very engaging for my younger children. My 5 year old needed a little help with game play the first few times, but quickly picked up her role there after. There is a good amount of strategizing that can be done to keep the game fresh and interactive, especially seeing as the goal isn’t to just collect the most pieces, but to collect complete color sets. Identifying multiple jump moves was fun for our kids and led to friendly “game talk”. With each game lasting around 10 minutes, it was just the right length to keep all players engaged. As an educator, my favorite part of this game, is that it encourages critical thinking skills and mathematical reasoning.

Great Alternative to Checkers for Young Kids
I received this game to test through the Stellar Product Testing Panel and am so glad I did. It is a great alternative to a standard game of checkers, especially for young kids. My kids are 7, 5, and 3. They loved the bright colors of the chips and eventually started pretending the chips were gems or treasures. The game itself came with the box, instructions, 5 colors of chips (one extra of each color that doesn't fit on the board) and the game board. Everything seems of really sturdy quality with vibrant colors and the chips even had sparkles inside the plastic they are made of. The board even held up after my 3 year old walked over the board when full of pieces (didn't hurt her bare feet and only made very small dents in the board from the ridges of the chips). The game is easy enough for anyone about 4 or older to play. You can only jump vertically or horizontally as long as there is an open space directly behind the chip you want to jump and you are positioned right next to the chip to jump. This is the same as checkers except for the directions you can jump. The kids loved that you can do as many jumps in a row as possible and only wanted to move if could do a multi jump. The goal is be the player at the end of the game with the most full sets of each color. The game ends when there are no jumps available on the board. With these rules, there are no fights about who is what color because everyone is everything. Kids have to still strategize about how to get colors needed and can either count or visually compare their stacks of each color to get a subtle math component to the game. It's a fun family game night option that doesn't have any too small pieces to worry about and can go at whatever sped works for the ages of those who are playing. Highly recommended.
