Miracle-Gro 30-10-10 Water Soluble Orchid Food, 8oz

Is active growth summer and rest winter? I grow my orchids outdoors in summer in the shade and they bloom as light hours drop in autumn. Or about the time i bring back indoors. Should I feed with heavier recommended measures (1tbsp/gal) when growing outdoors in summer?

However, the last box I got the color of the fertilizer was not pink as previous ones were. It is green like regular miracle grow…. Wondering if it is correct or if weather somehow changed it? Any ideas?

I use at 1/4 strength on 13 Phalaenopsis since I started my Orchid collection April 2019. I water “weakly weekly” my plants in bark. All are very healthy with new roots and several just starting to spike. Happy with this product!

I was looking for a plant food for the Gardenias; I choose the orchid food since the label recommends it for acid loving plants. I tested the soil PH and is neutral after enriching it with garden soil before planting the gardenias. I install a protection to avoid the dogs disturbing the plants (I took out a section just for the pictures). There are two similar beds with 5 plants in shaded areas. I started with the 1/4 spoon per gallon, then change to 1 spoon per gallon when I realized the 1/4 spoon was for pots; the results have been the same: plants dying. I need recommendations in what product to use and what else to do to cultivate beautiful Gardenias.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I picked up the Miracle-Gro Orchid food to supplement the soil on my wife's orchids. The purchase was made first of all because I trust the Miracle-Gro name. Last Fall I did a significant trimming of my azaleas in the front of the house. Traditionally this heavy of a trimming results in a lost Spring of blooms and new growth. After performing the needed cut backs I turned the soil around the plants and introduced some of the Miracle-Gro Orchid Food. With good rain and some warm weather I am seeing numerous buds and tender new foliage already this year. A early date for Easter will pre-date a full blooming but this should be a colorful Springs that I did not anticipate!

This mix will have to be applied manually. I use a small water jug to prevent product waste. It can also be applied directly. My gardenias and azaleas love it.
