Q: The label says "Unscented" but the ingredients list in the photograph includes fragrance (Parfum). Can anyone please clarify this?

A: I just put this on and the smell is horrible. It is not unscented. I'll be throwing it out and never buying again
submitted bylong time user - 1 year agoA: I used to use it all the time and it was unscented. Now it claims to be unscented but has a horrible strong perfumy scent. I don't care if they call it unscented, it isn't!

They are allowed to add masking scents to make it smell less chemically or whatever. “Fragrance free” = they can’t add fragrance but they purposely choose other ingredients that serve another purpose but also have perfumy scents so it’s not really fragrance free either. It’s maddening!
submitted byConsuela - 4 months agoA: “Unscented” products almost always contain some kind of fragrance designed to mask or neutralize the smell of the other ingredients. It’s a very misleading term used by many manufacturers. Those who are sensitive to fragrances should look for “fragrance-free” products. Neither of these marketing terms is regulated, and both might contain scent (always read the label), but “fragrance-free” is less likely to contain fragrance, in my experience.
submitted byjg - 4 months agoA: Dear Revlon Team - If it contains fragrance/parfum (which my allergist says refers to orris root, to which I am highly allergic), then it is NOT unscented.

Q: What is the best way to use this product? If you apply it and leave it, it just stays wet. It takes a few minutes to dry. I like it but I need a more effective way to apply it.

I'm very sensitive to scents. I purchased this deodorant because it is labeled: unscented. This is false. Not only is the deodorant scented, but it is *heavily* scented with a musky perfume. So disappointed. Would not recommend.

This is definitely NOT unscented. I've tried other deodorants that are "unscented" but still have a slight smell, just a hint of maybe whatever ingredients they contain. However, this is outright scented...heavily. I'm totally confused how the company puts this product out as unscented when it not only has a smell to it, but it's obvious they musy put something in the formula that's used as scent. If I could get over the event I would still not use it, because it doesn't even do a good job at preventing sweating and is very sticky even after drying

This is a terrible product and I'm very irritated that I wasted my money on it. First of all it is definitely not unscented, in fact it has a rather strong scent. I am sensitive to synthetic smells so the smell of it made me nauseous all day and i couldn't wait to change my clothes. Secondly, the twist knob arrived broken so i couldn't use this horrible product even if i wanted to. This was purchased as a 2-pack and i already removed and discarded the outer seal so it is not eligible for return.

I purchased a twin pack of this Mitchum Antiperspirant/Deodorant and I am incredibly sorry that I did. This feels like glue and drys with a clear/white crust which glues underarm hair together and pinches the skin when I move/lift my arm. Maybe I got a bad batch, but I would not wish this on my worst enemy.
Why does Unscented now have a smell? Also: Yuck!

Used this product happily for years and years - was the only unscented I could get. Used it and liked it even though I'm definitely not a guy. Suddenly it is scented - what the heck?! I do NOT want to smell like my antiperspirant. Hate to throw it away but it makes me angry every time I use it. Get a dictionary, Mitchum!

Used to use the unscented roll-on that doesn’t include parfum in the ingredients. Switched to the gel because the roll-on is hard to find. The performance of this product is great, but I’m allergic to all fragrances and had an allergic reaction to this product because I missed the “parfum” listed in the ingredients. I checked before I bought but missed it. I have to read every label and had read 15 before this one. This is NOT unscented, and if it contains parfum it should not be labeled as unscented. Some might argue that because it is mild it still can be considered as unscented, however those of us with allergies cannot have ANY scent in the ingredients. Please STOP adding parfum and scents to “unscented” products.

I can't believe I wasn't going to try this because of all the reviews saying that this had a strong scent. Well, I gave it a shot, and I'm pleased to report I find the scent very subtle and mild. It is barely there and I can't even smell the product after initial application. I've tried all kinds of strong anti-perspirtants and I can't stand the clinical anti-perspirants with strong perfumes that you can smell outside of your clothing. Mitchum Unscented is not one of those, at all. The scent is vaguely sandalwood. It is defintely a unisex scent. That being said, it is not truly unscented. Not sure why truly unscented anti-perspirants are SO HARD to find. As for the performance, I can't say yet. I just put it on this morning, but it is performing better than Secret Unscented Outlast gel so far. I have hyperhydrosis in my pits that ruins shirts almost immediately after putting them on. We'll see about this one!
