Okay overall but needs a way better kickstand

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The screen itself is pretty good overall and syncs with my computer nicely. The resolution is ok. Spreadsheets are slightly fuzzy and I've tried every option to clear it up, definitely not a deal breaker. The battery life has been pretty good. The touchscreen works very well, better than I expected. Cons: The kickstand sucks. It is a terrible design and is extremely finicky. This monitor should have a protective case/flap option and more rigid kickstand. A lot of money invested to have the kickstand fail and screen shatter. The options/settings menu window needs to stay open longer. As I am tinkering with settings its really frustrating when the window closes after a few seconds

    Great portable OLED screen

Initially encountered an issue with the HDMI, the blacks weren't deep, but figured out that my PC needed to output full RGB colors to get the deep blacks, it defaulted to limited color for some reason. The settings to fix that issue will vary from systems to systems, but you can search "How to Avoid Washed Out Colors When Using HDMI on Your PC" to find an article on a few ways to fix it. Aside from that, I'm happy with the purchase, but gaming isn't great for fast-paced/competitive games, but it's awesome for adventure/single-player games. Some wishes for the next iteration: less reflective screen, 90+Hz for better PC gaming, QD-OLED would be interesting in this size, stronger speakers, and adaptive sync would be cool.

I'm primarily using this with my nintendo switch(connect the usb c display cable directly to the switch to get audio), and smartphone. It has excellent picture quality, inky blacks, and vibrant colors thanks to the oled display. I was pleasantly surprised by its build quality, and its thin profile. It's lightweight(1.6lbs), so it can work really well for those that want to rest it on their laps, while they use it in bed for watching tv shows, or playing switch, even better if your bed is near a power outlet. Its got two speakers, but sadly no audio jack. Sound is okay, it's not the loudest speakers, but depending on where, and when you're using it, it might be enough. I recommend using headphones/speakers via the connected device for a better experience. You get a solid amount of settings to play with, which include: •Home(Increase/decrease brightness, contrast, and sound) •Six profile modes(Standard, Text, Movie, Game, Adobe RGB, and SRGB) •Color Temperature (RGB adjustment include: 6500K, 9300K, and user custom) •Color (Adjust Chroma, Saturation, and Sharpness) •Eye protection (four levels of limiting blue light) Whats included in the box: • Power Brick • Charging Cable usb c to usb c • HDMI Mini to hdmi cable • Usb C to usb c display cable( use this one on the nintendo switch to get audio) • Case that also acts as a stand Closing thoughts: My first impression is a very positive one. Setting it up was pretty simple, and the picture quality was very impressive. Played Metroid for an hour and a half, and it looked gorgeous, then I streamed some witcher on netflix, and some Chad on hbo max. Unfortunately I couldn't get the amazon prime video to work through the usb c cable connection, I kept getting a decryption error code notice. It did work with the hdmi mini cable. The one omission that stands out is the lack of audio jack, which would've made for a better cable management situation for many. Personally I prefer to reduce cables, so I connected my bluetooth headphones to the device, and it worked perfectly fine. You can also plug your external speakers, or headphones directly to the device if you prefer. Hopefully in the future, we get a 1080P model that includes a built in battery, while retaining the same or similar price. The 4k model feels unreasonably priced in my opinion. Pros •Excellent picture quality •Plenty of settings for you to play with, though the out of the box calibration is very good. I only adjusted brightness, which I set to 0(0-100 range) since I'm using it with the lights off, and eye protection(blue light) set to lvl 1 •Nice build quality •Includes all the needed cables for it to work, and the cables are labeled. •Included case feels nice, and works very well as a stand thanks to its clever design. Cons •Lack of Audio jack might be an issue for some •Lack of built in battery for max portability. Understandably to keep cost downs. Hopefully components keep getting cheaper, and we can get one included in newer models while retaining the same price, or not increasing too much for consumers. •To my knowledge, the only way to get audio to work on nintendo switch is through usb c to usb c display cable. Which on the positive side, means you don't need the dock for it to work, provided your switch has enough battery. On the downside, the amount of energy provided by the monitor to the switch isn't enough to charge it, or keep it from draining while playing. With that said, I was able to play Metroid for an hour and a half, and it only dropped 15% (100 to 85), though Metroid isn't as intensive as something like BOTW. So keep that in mind.

Beautiful, sharp display for a MacBook Pro with some connectivity issues

originally posted on Mobile Pixels Inc
I've been using this for about 4 months as a second display with an M1Max MacBook Pro in a stationary placement on my desk. (I haven't really had a chance to travel with it, so I can't speak to its usefulness in that regard.) I was looking for a small display to fill in under my main display and while there are lots of 15.6-inch displays available, this was the only one I could find that was OLED and 4K. It's a bit pricey (especially compared to the myriad of 1080p LCDs), but you definitely get what you pay for. First off, the display is absolutely gorgeous. It is sharp, bright, and colorful with no signs of ghosting, bleed, or other issues common with cheap LCD displays. The actual viewable display area is 15.6 inches, although it does have about an inch of bezel at the bottom (the other sides have about 3/8-inch bezel). This display is far superior to my main display (an LG UltaFine 5K, which isn't really a high bar), except, of course, it's much smaller. Although I don't ever use the touch feature, I have played with it enough to determine it does work on macOS. However macOS is not a touch-based operating system and therefore the touch functionality doesn't work perfectly with multiple screens. This means if you use another screen with this display the touch input on this display actually registers on the display that currently has the mouse pointer on it—the pointer does NOT move to where you touched if the pointer is on another display. As long as you make sure to move the pointer (with your mouse/trackpad) to this display first, it generally seems to work as expected. I don't think this is the fault of the display—macOS is not designed to be a touch-based system. Also note that this display does NOT recognize input from a 2nd generation Apple Pencil. I was initially hoping this could be a one-cable display, but it does not seem possible to provide enough power over the USB-C data cable (or other cables, such as Thunderbolt 3 and 4 cables). For me, this wasn't a major issue because I have a USB power hub on my desk and I just plugged in a second USB-C cable to power the display. The quality of this display more than makes up for the extra power cable. The only significant issue I've had with this display (and why it doesn't get 5-stars, although I'd give it 4.5 if I could) is that it sometimes won't establish the video link (over USB-C, at least) when waking from sleep. When this happens, I have to disconnect the USB-C data cable for about 30 seconds then plug it back in and it will work again. I usually disconnect the cable from the MBP side because I fear the USB-C connectors in the display might not hold up well to being disconnected and re-connected a few times per week. If I ever return to traveling to a remote office I'm sure this display will become even more valuable to me as it is almost the same size (except thinner) as the 16" MBP and will easily fit in the same bag with it. I'll have to throw in an extra USB power supply, but that's still probably worth effectively doubling my workspace.

I don't typically write reviews but this thing looks really fantastic. I tried it via USB-C on my M1 MacBook Pro and the desktop automatically expanded. I tested the touchscreen by dragging a window around and it was very fluid. Finally I swapped over to HDMI to see how it games looked from the Switch. Games looked amazing and the speakers were decent. This thing is great!

    Great screen… after some tweaks

Updated March 28, 2022: It looks like I found a solution to the HDMI blacks not being black. On my windows desktop (and laptop), I had to force the output to be 10bit and full color in the Nvidia control panel. Once I did that, blacks were now really black! So the pixels were off! You may only need to set the full color (and not the 10bit) as the full color option allows the whole range of color versus a subset. And part of that subset of color was pure black. This was my biggest issue and with this fix, it’s a keeper! Original review: For a portable 15" monitor, the picture quality is pretty good.... with some caveats. First the good: - It is an OLED monitor in a small, portable form factor! You can power with just a single USB, but that limits your brightness, so unless you want to stick at 20% brightness, you will always need to plug it in. - The screen picture (once you adjust the colors), look very good. It is not HDR so the colors won't pop as much as on an OLED TV or HDR monitor, but it is good with the contrast against the true black (see issue below). For me, the colors were a little too warm and maybe had a little red/yellow tinge to it. I don't have a calibration device but I was eyeballing it against other OLED devices. - The case/cover is nice to stick in a bag. However, I did get one of the tablet aluminum stands to use at my desk as a second monitor as it takes up less desk space and is more adjustable. - The screen calibration changes are used for either input, so only one setup. This may be a con for some people, but realistically you will need to use USB C. - 1080p is good at this size; while 4k is nice, not worth the benefit because I'd have to work at 200% in Windows which is 1080p effective resolution (just more details). - It gets pretty bright (which I prefer - no more sub-300 nit screens!) On to the bad: - if you use HDMI, you do NOT get the true blacks. The screen stays lit and the black is more of a gray (very much like a normal IPS screen). That may have been another reviewer's issue. Switch over to USB C and you get that inky black. I tried both ports on several machines (windows and mac) to see if it was a machine or OS - but it is the HDMI port input. Of course, my desktop card is only HDMI and DisplayPort so I am going to try one of those USB C to DP bi-directional cables for home use. - the color calibration is not great out of the box despite their little calibration paper - the stand takes up more desk space than I'd like and is not really adjustable - speakers will work in a pinch, but my MBP 16 sounds sooo much better The HDMI non-black is a serious issue. I am debating whether I will return this. For travel, all my devices have USB C, so not as much of an issue. But for home use, if the bi-directional cable doesn't work then that is an issue. I got it on sale so it is not that much more expensive than an IPS screen and I don't have to worry about an blacklight bleed or IPS glow.

No blurring for gaming, great picture quality

Bought this for my nintendo switch and steam deck after trying a different portable "gaming" monitor that was blurry when anything moved on screen. I don't see the blur anymore with this monitor and the colors are vivid. The case works as a stand behind the monitor, which I like much better than having the case folded out in front like some of the smart cases are designed.

Using it primarily for my switch OLED. Make sure to use at least 40W power. I have a 45W PD power bank that powers the monitor. Then only using a single USB c cable connected to my switch enables tv mode. For the screen itself excellent inky blacks, contrast and color. Good brightness and speakers get the job done. Very good build quality and the included case is nice. Very happy with this monitor!

Everything but the picture quality is disappointing

This screen is very pretty, but that's about all the good I have to say about it. (But that is a huge selling point; it's currently very unique in that respect). Oh, it does support the Surface Pen and Wacom Bamboo Ink stylus in Surface mode, but doesn't seem to work very well with the Surface Slim Pen 2, limiting its future appeal. I think the firmware is pretty abysmal, and I don't have hope that it'll be updated. - The extra devices that the screen contains (like the touch screen) disconnect whenever it goes to sleep, so you'll constantly hear the Windows device disconnection noise when that happens. - It apparently adds an extra USB keyboard/mouse when you connect it even though there's no keyboard functionality at all! So it disables the laptop touchpad by default (because Windows thinks there's an external mouse connected), and Android does wonky stuff with the on-screen keyboard because it assumes that'll be your input. Very bizarre, but I think they have a related product that supports some sort of keyboard - As well, you can't adjust the brightness unless you're in a custom picture mode, so it makes the other standard modes have limited usefulness. - The battery doesn't last very long, either; and the Lenovo X1 Yoga that I have it connected to won't charge it (enough) from the Thunderbolt port it has, so I'm forced to run it with its own power adapter in addition to the Type-C connection. This product is ok, but it could've been much, much better. It does the job, but it's ultimately disappointing.

Okay, the GOOD news is the graphics are excellent;clear, sharp, vivid The QUESTION is, is the cost worth the (admittedly very bright) candle If it were a smaller size,he differences between this and a "standard" hi-def would be too smalltoo worry about If it were bigger AND if you were/are a dedicated gamer (frankly, I don't think it's really necessary for any other pursuit) this might make your little heart go pitty-pat But, at this size, right in the middle, YOU need to decide if the cost of beauty is worth the price of beauty
