Q: Do you need to have the 2.0 to use this or will it work with the original?
submitted by Trauri - 27 days ago
A: Hi Trauri! The Mockingbird 2nd Seat Kit 2.0 is compatible with all iterations of our Single-to-Double Stroller! This means, regardless of whether you have the Single-to-Double Stroller 2.0 or a previous version, the 2nd Seat Kit will work on that Stroller.

Perfection!

Adding the second seat was perfectly timed just before my second grandbaby was born. It assembled smoothly and took all guesswork out of what to get for mommy and daddy this time around. Big brother pushes it with ease.

Hi, I absolutely love the second seat kit but didn’t realize I ordered the wrong color and also ordered the wrong car seat attachments.
Effectively doesn’t fit with the bassinet

We bought the 2nd seat kit when our daughter was born, and thought it would fit better with the bassinet we already owned. Unfortunately, the bassinet pushed too far forward—especially with the accessory pouch hanging off the handle in front—and either pushes on the back of the headrest of the big-kid seat in front, preventing any use of the reclining clip(not great if our big kid falls asleep in his seat), or that seat has to be laid completely horizontal to fit underneath the bassinet(although we haven’t even tried this because it seems too odd..?). It works better with the other seat it came with of the same type as the regular seat, so in that case, it did turn the stroller into a double. Just wish it fit with the bassinet better. It also fits the car seat adapter better than the bassinet, but not as well as the regular seat.
Not what I expected

For starters, it was the easiest thing I’ve put together. It also has updated cover with the extra length (my original did not). What I wasn’t expecting was the added weight with the newborn + toddler. Having a toddler in the front makes it hard to steer. Also, you can fully lean the infant seat back on top if you have a child in the lower seat. This was extremely frustrating. The added seat means raising the original which now causes issues with my hanging accessories bag. It’s also a bother to get in because of the stroller bar being in the way. I can’t say for sure I’d order again as I’m debating selling and getting a side-by-side. It’s just too much to travel with as well.
Love it!

We have a 16 month old and a one month old, and being able to convert the stroller into a double is exactly why we bought this stroller. It works great, whether we are at the store, the zoo, or on a family walk. Highly recommend.

I love this stroller and its ability to modify seating arrangements depending on your needs. We started out with the car seat attachment when our baby was an infant (no problems there, we had a Chicco car seat). And now that she is one, we use the stroller seat which can be forward or back facing and reclines nicely. The only accessibility point that suffers when transitioning to the single stroller seat is that it’s a little harder to reach your items in the storage basket since it sits lower than the car seat. And, as a note, that storage basket is so roomy and holds so much more than any other stroller I’ve seen. I store things down there every time I’m out. Overall, highly recommend!

I have tried 2 different double seat strollers and even a single stroller with a board on the back for my two kids (2 and 4). Well, there’s a reason I bought the mockingbird - the ones I’ve tried never worked for us! It’s either hard steering, no steering at all, and pushing the stroller was causing back pain from hunching over the add on board. Then my friend told me about mockingbird and here I am. Today was the first day I used the mockingbird (with the 2nd seat kit) and all I gotta say is - “finally! Something that works for us!” All the combos of how you can face the seats gives more versatility and adaptability to the environment. All combos still allow you to utilize the huge basket at the bottom. It was easy to install. My husband has a disability where the muscles in his hands are withering and he was even able to attach the kit and install the seats in all its combos with no problems (this was a first). So far, I wish I had just started with a single mockingbird and then converted it to a double instead of going through a gazillion other strollers. Plus, the canopies come in cute colors and designs!

We recently purchased the second seat kit for Mockingbird stroller. I was super excited to get this kit as I loved the stroller with her first child. However, I’m sad to say that I’m very disappointed in the stroller as a two seater. When taking both of my boys on a walk the stroller is noted to strongly drift to one side, even when the pavement is hardly sloped. My boys are two years old and two months old, both of which should be able to comfortably ride in the stroller without issues. The stroller drifts so strongly that when I try to correct it to straighten it out the back wheel lifts up. I don’t dare even bring our dog on a walk with us anymore because it’s too hard to manage the dog on a leash and control the stroller to keep it from turning to the side. I used to recommend the stroller to everyone and now I have been advising against it. I’m contemplating getting a whole new brand of stroller because I’m that frustrated with the Mockingbird.

We love this stroller. We decided to invest in this once as we have two under two. The double seat feature is easier to install than I could have imagined. This is great quality and I highly recommend.

Love that I can fit my toddler and 3 month baby in the same stroller. Rides pretty smoothly, easy to handle, and fits through narrow places. Easy to open and fold. I only wish it would fold up some more as it is still really big when folded.

I have loved my mockingbird stroller. I was so excited to get this with my first child and the fact that it could "grow with me" for whenever I had more kids and it was at an affordable price. Now that I have my second child the stroller is still nice but it is SO heavy and hard to push. I have checked the weight limit and I do not exceed that but it just feels like the stroller is going to tip over when I push it. Unfortunately, I just do not use it as much now and will probably get a different stroller that will better fit us when going on walks or trips as my 2.5 and 8 month old get bigger.

This was the reason I went with this stroller with the first baby- in anticipation of converting it later! Worked like a charm and the husband said it was easy to install.
