I really wanted to love the extra spicy one. I love the original one. But the extra spicy, although somewhat spicy, does not have the same flavor as the original. Does not have the same sweetness and flavor. I was so disappointed. I’ll be sticking to the original one.

my main issue is I cannot open this lid EVER. i’ll leave it a little loose but still wont be able to open it the next time i’d like to use it. other than that, it’s good definitely not authentic but it gets the job done. also don’t find it super spicy

I absolutely love this chili! It doesn’t have salt which is great. I just add a bit of salt and viola even better. The only thing I hate about this is the oil that it’s used just because it’s inflammatory but other than that it’s great! I use it on everything from rice, eggs, chicken, turkey anything to give it a kick. Has the right balance of flavors and heat. I would only change the type of oil and the price but other than that nothing else. Will purchase again!

I tried the regular version of this, and wasn’t crazy about the sweet flavor, but the crunch was nice. So I decided to try this extra spicy version because I enjoy habanero heat. And wow! I really like this. I don’t branch out too much but this is a favorite of mine to jazz up ramen and homemade wonton soup. It doesn’t have the weird sweetness that the regular version has- this one has a nice level of heat and saltiness, and still maintains the great crunchy texture that I’m looking for.

Chili with crunch and not much else
I bought the Extra Spicy variety, and very spicy it is, in a good way. Unfortunately not much else going on here. No underlying flavors, just some sugar that pairs well with the heat, but that's where it ends. Not as crunchy as I'd hoped. Lao Gan Ma is still the champ, by far. Also have to comment that all Momofuku products are grossly overpriced for the amount in each container, and for the pedestrian taste they seem to have in common.
