Such an easy connector to install!

OK, so I ordered a 20 pair pack (#2008) and crossed my fingers about a 12 gauge wire install. Ordered the bulk 300ft. roll of OFC speaker wire (#2790) and it was a perfect snug fit. My hands hurt a little from arthritis, but even with that the install went easily. I found that about 3/16 needs to be taken off of the wire jacket which leaves a near perfect waterfall once you bend the bare end over the collar. I also remove the color rings as the wire is so well marked it isn't needed and you gain a little torque when tightening it all together. The simplest process is to install the wire into the collar, loosen the banana pin, screw the halves together until they stop, retighten the banana pin. There will be a 1/16 gap, and you'll need a plier to get enough grip to twist the portions together and it's solid. The prongs on the plug can be adjusted with a small flat-blade if you compress them during assembly and think they are 'loose' in the port.
Solid, but loose fitting

I like the solid construction of these plugs. I did have to squeeze the tips vertically so that the edges would bend out some. Otherwise the plugs would be very loose when connecting them to the speakers or receiver.
Poor quality pins do not lock

These are a great deal price wise. However these do not fit tightly in most higher end amps and receivers. The pins do not have enough thickness to lock in. I cannot use these and now cannot return past 30 days. Do not recommend these at all. Very poor quality.
Great quality but difficult to attach wires.

After attaching about 5 of these to my speaker wire, my hands started hurting pretty bad. I have stranded 14 awg wire and it would take some considerable force to get the wires bent over and the end pushed in enough to start screwing it back together to hold tight. Amazing price, but difficult to use. Great contact with wires and very firm connection when done right.
Don?t really know how good they are?

Really, really NOT a fan. They?re easy to set up, they seem of good quality, but they just flat out don?t stay in the jacks of either my Marantz AVR or my Emotiva amp. I can?t believe that both components have numerous messed up jacks. I suspect the QC on the plugs is questionable.

PROS: These work great they dont get lose or unwind in any way.I bought everything for my home theater through Monoprice and my theater is still going great. CONS: I bought 30 pairs back in 2013 and maybe 2-3 years ago the plugs on my satellite speakers (6 of them) started to turn black like corroded and I have 2 pairs per speaker 1 set for the wall plate that has 2 connectors and 1 set going to the speaker. I did send in a message for replacements through the Monoprice website contact link maybe a week ago and no response so I sent another today and hope to hear from them soon. Maybe I just got a bad batch cause my other 12 sets that are between my receiver and wall plate that has the 7.2 setup are still good so like I said maybe a bad batch. I am putting in another order to do my brothers house also and I hope Monoprice responds with a replacement answer for mine cause I have been a customer for a very long time for example I still have a few TVs that use the HDMI cables that have the ferrite cores and multi colors. But by no means am I slamming Monoprice just want a response so I figure I would try this route. Products are awesome just waiting to see how the replacement process is.

I haven't had an issue with these plugs and they fit in nicely into my Denon S960, so far so good.

These are reasonable quality for the price. One thing to point out, they do not fit 12gauge speaker cable well. 12gauge is just a littel too thick to spread out and have the connector fit over it.

The pins and the connectors do not remain tight and loosen up very easily. You have to always retighten them whenever you are switching the wiring around.
Good Banana Plugs

The Good: Great value. Easy to put together once you get the hang of it. Looks stylish. Interchangeable tips with pin plugs. Would recommend that two small pliers be used for the final torque to save finger tips.. Not so good: The plug part plugs into the sockets very loosely. You can stick a small screw driver or small awe to spread the plug out, but then you risk damaging the plug. This isn't something you should have to do on a new plug, this is a technique reserved for older plugs that have been worn down. The all metal housing. Looks great but in practice if the housing touches together you get a short. Shouldn't be an issue once system is static, but while components are moving around (tweaking speaker placement) and the fact that the plugs are a bit loose, could lead to a short. So I ended heat shrinking the ends. I also shrink wrapped the pin plugs I purchased. Overall, I would purchase them again although I wish Monoprice also had a spade connector option. .

They pieces don't come together too easily, and after doing 5 pars, your fingers get chewed up quite a bit. I wrapped some plyers to make it easier. I would do it again since they are high quality and make hook-up a breeze.

I bought 12 awg wire from monoprice and it's very hard to connect this with 12 awg wire. I guess upto 16 awg would be ideal for this.
Works as they should.

Would be better if they had a transparent insulation coating so if the banana jacks were to come loose they could not short out. I just used some transparent packing tape on the outside of the jack . Allowed me to see the plus or minus color coding on the jack.
