Monoprice USB 3.0 Hub With AC Adapter | 7-port, Aluminum

I'm surprised there's not more brands making this type of arrangement. Despite the lack of competition, it's a great price. The only similar products I saw were USB 2.0, whereas this is 3.0 and has plenty of ports. I have not needed the included power cable yet and I'm using a flash drive, keyboard, and glowing mouse with it. I'm guessing a lot of the negative reviews were from people mistakenly thinking this has a type C main connection. In fact it has a type A main connection. But you can get a type C to type A (preferably type A 3.0) converter if your device only has a type C port, like I'm using. One thing I should mention for laptop users, I found out with my laptop that I can enter the BIOS settings and set the laptop to power down USB devices when the laptop is off, meaning I can leave this hub plugged in when the laptop is off without it draining power from the laptop. Now I have the perfect setup.

I've used it for just over a month and so far so good. Great value.

Works, good looking, seems solid. And comes with an AC adapter, so can be used as a (low powered) charging station.

It was hooked up to a Mac mini M2. It would not hold the two external disks I need. It kept telling me that I had unplugged a disk improperly when I had not even touched it. I had a lot of other issues with my brand new Mac mini M2 while this hub was connected. Yes, I was using the AC adapter.

After 6 months, only three of the ports still work. The other four ports furthest from the power cord don't have any signal. No power, no data.

Some of the connections are a little loose. Fine as long as you bump it a lot

I needed an externally powered hub like this one because I run a drawing tablet(two USB outlets for power and data) and a USB SSD(also power hungry) and I was always running into random-rebooting issues. And now with THIS powered hub I can even run a USB keypad as well and not have to worry about power issues damaging my laptop anymore

The AC power adapter does not fit into the USB hub! Do not waste your money on this garbage.

It is a bit tricky to get my iPad with the camera adapter usb dongle to accept the device. Apple suggests a power down, found the hub needs to be connected first without power and after it recognizes the dongle I plug it in. to know that it recognizes the dongle, I first plug in the usb light and wait for it to power on, the I attach the hub. I think this an Apple feature and not limited to this hub. Once it connects works great, sees my midi and mixer with good response. No issues on my pc.

Exactly what I needed. Now I can have all my USB 3 devices hooked up at the same time.

If you need more USB 3.0 ports for items that need the full 500mA power to the device, then this externally powered 4-port hub is the thing for you! It comes with a 5V 2A wall wart.

It looks nice! It works great! BUT, the USB cable that connects to your desktop or laptop is WAY TOO SHORT! It’s especially too short for connecting to a desktop—in particular anyone who has a sit-stand desk. It could really use a 3- to 6ft cable. It would also be nice to be a able to turn the LED light on it off or on. It lights up the room at night.

Good but not great. Very slim metal case which is excellent. Ports a little difficult to get to because it is so thin and hard to grab. I found that I can get about 1 amp out of 2-3 ports at a time. The speeds are excellent given you are using one connected device at a time. The unit has the logo IIIP on it, so not sure who really makes it. I think the slim size may mean that it could get hot, but the metal body should help dissipate heat. My unit does not get very hot at all. Orico makes good units as well if you need longer cord on usb hub.

I have this plugged into an old all-in-one computer for the extra ports and have no problems at all. Works great.
