The extended-release bi-layer tablet is designed with two layers. The first layer is absorbed quickly by your body for fast relief. The other layer dissolves slowly to continue relieving your coughs for 12 hours. Mucinex DM Max Strength contains 1200 mg Guaifenesin & 60 mg dextromethorphan HBr. Good product and works well but as Horrific stated, IT'S TOO BIG! My husband is 84 and has great difficulty swelling your monster pill. Why can't it be made two pills like many other needing to be large doses in pill form separated into two?

Works WELL . HOWEVER. I always have a nasty side effect of sulfur smelling urine. So much so, that I won't take this medicine if I know I'm going to be around people.

I can’t take liquid medicine for the life of me. When I get sick this is the only cough suppressant in pill form that works! It may be a little price but it’s worth the money if you want to relieve a cough.

It helps loosen the phlegm and controls the coughing, I don't hear the rattling of the mucus in my chest. I will continue to use it and would recommend it to anyone with excess mucus issues.
