  • A: Hi LS, Thanks for reaching out to us about our hair care products! While Native hair care products will leave hair feeling clean and smelling fantastic, it does not currently help prevent balding or hair thinning. Q: Following earlier ques - if the only difference is the scent, then the "moisturizing," "volumizing," and "strengthening" language is just marketing and not actual differences among the conditioners?

submitted by Lauren - 2 years ago
  • A: Hi Lauren, Thank you for reaching out and we apologize if we caused any confusion. To confirm, while the scent is consistent with our products, our haircare line does perform differently for each category, therefore they are not all the same and used as a marketing approach. We hope this clears it up.

Q: I feel silly having to ask this, but is there a trick to getting the pump to work? I have tried screwing, turning, pushing, and pulling but to no avail.

submitted by Kathi - 4 years ago
  • A: Hi Kathi, Thanks for reaching out and we're so sorry to hear this. Have you tried unscrewing the pump and rinsing it out to see if it's been clogged? It could be that there is some build up which is causing the product to not dispense. Can you try and let us know if that works? If that doesn't do the trick, we'll look into this further. -Native

HAIR LOSS & THINNING

1 out of 5 stars

DM - 7 days ago, Verified purchaser
I have a great sense of responsibility to warn you to STAY AWAY from Native. Native causes HAIR LOSS and THINING with the Coconut / Sea Salt shampoos+conditioners. Please, please, please DO NOT USE Native Conditioner. In no conscience, could I EVER recommend this. This is my experience... I am a male, 28 years old. I started using towards the end of my 26th year. I used Native Shampoo & Conditioner for around 9 months - started in August 2023 and stopped at the end of May 2024. I was always known for having extremely thick hair. I was the guy that had the best hair, and it really differentiated my appeal. But all that CONFIDENCE has been TAKEN AWAY by this shampoo/conditioner and company. I would say that around 6 months (March 2024), I started noticing my hair was not as thick. I thought that to be really weird. And additionally, I was worried because I started noticing that I had receding hairline. It wasn't until month 9 (end of May/beginning of June) that I then started having HAIR FALL tremendously, and my hair was EXTREMELY THIN. I got super worried (still am), and as a result I have been going to the dermatologist - I use ketoconazole, finasteride, and minoxidil. But so far, after 2 months, my hair is STILL FALLING. It sucks, and it really irks me that other people are going through this!!! Google it, and you will find hundreds of people experiencing this on Reddit. I am extremely upset, and I will do everything in my good conscience to help prevent this from happening to others and getting justice. This is extremely UNACCEPTABLE and this company should be OUT OF BUSINESS.

CHANGED FORMULA SUCKS

Fabian - 13 days ago, Verified purchaser
I have been using this conditioner for about a year and I have loved it UNTIL THEY CHANGED THE FORMULA RECENTLY. Now it is so awful. It strips my hair and tangles it horribly. My hair look frizzy and disheveled literally an hour after I washed it. ALSO If you bought this because it was highly rated on Yuka just know that the score has significantly dropped since they changed the formula.

Leaves hair extremely greasy

slocee - 2 months ago, Verified purchaser
I NEVER write reviews unless I feel it is absolutely necessary. I am 2 months postpartum and thought hormones were causing my hair to be greasy even after I just took a shower and thoroughly washed my hair, nope, it was this conditioner. I know because I used it on my daughter’s hair last night and immediately felt the same results on her hair and her hair never feels like that. I understand that this is supposed to be “moisturizing” but this is straight up greasy immediately after showering. It made my hair stick together while it was dry the same day I washed it, it was that greasy. I used some random Pantene conditioner today and it is a night and day difference after blow drying. I feel free from this conditioner now!! I will say I enjoy the smell but it doesn’t last long anyways.

I really wanted to love a "clean" shampoo & conditioner. I bought moisturizerizing thinking it would help but it made my hair so frizzy, I wore it in a claw clip every day. I used about half the bottle hoping it would get better but it didn't. I switched back to my old products. The smell was just ok .. a little more coconut would have been better. It smelled weird to me until about day 2.

Really wish I would have read reviews before purchasing. I was out of the Kitsch bar shampoo (which I love), so while I was waiting for that to ship, I grabbed this shampoo and conditioner at the store. The bottles look nice and I love how the clean ingredients are listed simply on the back. I usually love anything coconut and vanilla, but this somehow smells terrible. The one time I used it, it left my hair flat with a sticky residue. $20 wasted! :(

Worst Conditioner Ever

1 out of 5 stars
Thumbs down graphic, would not recommend
EffTee - 4 months ago, Verified purchaser
This is hands down the worst conditioner I’ve ever used in 45 years of washing my hair. I have as close to perfect hair as one can get. It’s so agreeable that I can use any type of shampoo and conditioner, and it’s really hard to disappoint me with any sort of hair products. But this shampoo and conditioner (and the cinnamon one) left me with the nastiness, greasiest, funkiest hair imaginable. Wasn’t just me, either, as it left my daughter’s hair equally as gross. Do yourself a favor and heed the warnings in these reviews.

I wish I could rate 0! I tried native at a friends house and loved how it made my hair feel. I started using this a month and a half ago and appreciated that I was able to go much longer without washes. But I noticed a lot of hair seemed to come out in the shower and my scalp was unreasonably flakey… with a little research come to find out this could be the cause.
