I am writing this review end of March 2023 so who knows how long this will be truthful. But after purchasing this 12 month membership and panicking because I realized too late that it says "for NEW members" I decided to try the code regardless. I already had an existing family plan expansion pack that was about to expire and wanted to save a few dollars by purchasing this with my red card instead of renewing. I don't know if it matters or not, but I first turned off automatic renewals for the membership, and then I entered the 16 digit pin I was provided. And for anyone who is debating on purchasing this, I do recommend it if you enjoy the digital library. If you're getting this membership for the Animal Crossing/Splatoon/Mariokart bonuses I'd recommend buying those indvidually instead. As when the membership ends you lose access to those DLC. My family group is completely filled and I find it worth it as it provides extra games and entertainment to my friends and family. There is no telling how much it'll be worth it in the end when the switch eshop invevitably shuts down and the nintendo online memberships eventually close. But if you have the cash I do recommend getting this. If you don't care for the Nintendo 64 or Genesis games then stick to the standard plan, but $80 dollars is a fair trade off if you have a fully group (basically $10 per person per year).
