Q: On the bottom of the jar there are some numbers. Is it the expiration date or manufacturing date?
submitted by blackflecks - 1 year ago
A: The raised numbers on the bottom of the NIVEA Crème glass jar are related to the manufacturing of the glass jar, not the NIVEA Crème itself. The lot code for the NIVEA Crème is located on the outer edge of the lid, and is in dark print. The lot code will either be a series of 8 numbers or 8 numbers followed by 2 letters. In all cases, the first number of the code is the last digit of the year the product was produced, and the next two numbers are the week of the year. For example, Lot Code 02350957 indicates the product was produced in 2020 in the 23rd week of the year. The zero stands for production in 2020. The second and third numbers are the week of production, in this example week 23 (June). The NIVEA Crème is good for 30 months from the date of manufacture.

A: I received mine recently. I think the lot code was rubbed off somehow. I see a spotted black streaked on the side of the lid which I'm guessing was the lot code number.

Best skin-cream I've found

Nivea is the best skin-cream I've found. I've suffered from dry skin since puberty and, at one time or another, tried about every product I've seen, on the three different continents and even some stuff I found in Turkey, right on the Syrian border. I've been using Nivea Creme for more than thirty years. I'm told the scent has been the same for more than a hundred years; please don't change it. It is a much lighter scent than most other skin-creams. It melts into your skin and doesn't muck-up your clothes or sheets. It soothes sunburn. It's good for daily use. Vitiligo runs in my family, but I don't have it, though I can't say whether or not that has anything to do with my use of Nivea, but still . . .

If you are looking for an extremely thick hand creme, this is it! I have to wash my hands numerous times daily because of my job. At the end of the day my hands are incredibly dry. I lather this stuff on right before bed and wake up to hydrated skin. It can be a little greasy, and it does take a little bit to work it in, but I think that's what makes it a good, rich, hand creme. Also, for how much you get and how little you need for each use, it's an amazing price. I'll probably not need to buy hand creme for 6+ months.

I have used Nivea products for years, but this stuff is a disappointment. It has the texture of school paste and is difficult to apply. My skin feels good, but the texture and difficulty of applying make this a no go for me.
This crème helps with dry skin, I recommend to use it after washing hands or when your done showering.

This product goes on like paste. It is so thick and dry that it is difficult to apply. Skin feels good after it gets absorbed, but I doubt I will buy again due to its paste like feel. Surprised that Nivea didn’t think the texture would not be a problem. I have always used their products so was thinking this would be another good product. Unfortunately I was disappointed.

I don’t understand the La Mer comparison. The look of the creme is similar but that’s it. The moisturizer is good for the price. My only con is that it’s too greasy for my liking but will repurchase.

The best moisturizer, hands down, for those of us with very dry skin. I have tried every moisturizer under the sun from every price point, and nothing keeps my skin as clear and hydrated as this. I get compliments all the time for how glowy, clear, and hydrated my skin is after using this. It really changed my life!

This stuff is no joke. I have dry, cracked skin during the winter and thought I’d give this a try. It is VERY thick and takes a while to be absorbed into your skin. If you have an aversion to thick creams and feeling slightly sticky for a couple hours, this is not for you. It is a little too thick and heavy for my liking, but it seems to do a good job moisturizing so far and people swear by this product. It takes some time to really rub it into your skin, but I do find that if you warm the creme in your hand, application will be much easier. The scent is subtle, clean and neutral. A little goes a long way. This tub is probably going to last me a year. If you’re thinking about trying this product, I suggest getting the small tin first.

No, actually though, I'm 27 and have had dry skin pretty much all my life. I've tried high price moisturizers for my face and one day, I ran out of everything and was super broke and found this. Not only has it worked, it's worked better than the expensive nonsense I've been buying for years. (Did I mention its a dupe for a certain $170 moisturizer that rhymes with le hair?) If you're looking for your holy grail moisturizer this is it! I bought the travel tin to try it and am definitely coming back for the big tub. One tip: Warm it up a little and massage it on thoroughly.

I have been using this creme on my face for years! No one is able to guess my age. I encourage my 18 year old and her friends to start using it. The key to ageless skin is moisture and this product is packed with it. I also use the Nivea Body Lotion with Almond Oil on my body and again my skin just glows! I am 62 years old and the average guess for my age is 52. Thank you!!

I love the formula but I wish it comes in unscented. The smell is too overpowering and unnecessary. Please make them in unscented, Nivea!
