Book Synopsis
From the #1 New York Times bestselling author known for her "superb pacing, twisted characters, and captivating prose" (BuzzFeed), Lisa Jewell returns with a scintillating new psychological thriller about a woman who finds herself the subject of her own popular true crime podcast.Celebrating her forty-fifth birthday at her local pub, popular podcaster Alix Summer crosses paths with an unassuming woman called Josie Fair. Josie, it turns out, is also celebrating her forty-fifth birthday. They are, in fact, birthday twins. A few days later, Alix and Josie bump into each other again, this time outside Alix's children's school. Josie has been listening to Alix's podcasts and thinks she might be an interesting subject for her series. She is, she tells Alix, on the cusp of great changes in her life. Josie's life appears to be strange and complicated, and although Alix finds her unsettling, she can't quite resist the temptation to keep making the podcast. Slowly she starts to realize that Josie has been hiding some very dark secrets, and before she knows it, Josie has inveigled her way into Alix's life--and into her home. But, as quickly as she arrived, Josie disappears. Only then does Alix discover that Josie has left a terrible and terrifying legacy in her wake, and that Alix has become the subject of her own true crime podcast, with her life and her family's lives under mortal threat. Who is Josie Fair? And what has she done?
Review Quotes
"Gloriously dark, so clever and completely addictive - this is Lisa Jewell at the very top of her game. This book kept me up reading late into the night and haunted my dreams!" --LUCY FOLEY, New York Times bestselling author of The Paris Apartment
"Lisa Jewell is on top-form with this pitch-black fever dream of a book - darker, twistier and more compelling than ever." --RUTH WARE, New York Times bestselling author of The It Girl
"Gloriously dark and twistier than a twisty thing." --JOJO MOYES, New York Times bestselling author of Someone Else's Shoes
"I adore Lisa Jewell, and this is her best yet. I adored the unreliable characters, their dark secrets, the fateful collision of their two different worlds in the same corner of London. I simply could not leave it alone, and had to keep reading until I'd reached the heart-stopping conclusion. Utterly irresistible from the very first page." --KATHERINE FAULKNER, author of Greenwich Park
"A moody, slippery novel where nobody is as they seem. As breathtaking story is revealed within story, readers peel back the layers to find revenge, a meditation on the damage done by the past, and characters who could walk into the room and sit on your sofa. Here Jewell cements her position as queen of character-led fiction." --GILLIAN MCALLISTER, New York Times bestselling author of Wrong Place, Wrong Time

None of This is True by Lisa Jewell. (Book chosen by roulette and a blind read.) Where do I begin to even start this review?! If I could give it more than 5⭐️’s I most certainly would! This book has you on the most intense roller coaster - you know, the one when you know you should close your eyes until the end, but you keep riding with your hands in the air ready to see the end?! That is exactly how I felt. Just when I thought I had the ending figured out, I was wrong. From the narration, to the podcast blurbs, to the Netflix entries, and overall characters in this book - I was swimming in the deep end without coming up for air! The twists and turns will have you literally dropping the book to your lap, looking straight ahead, and saying, “what in the world did I just read” and in the best way possible!! You will not regret reading this book! Yet another great read from Lisa Jewell! #noneofthisistrue #lisajewell #readmorebooks

Totally binge worthy & couldn't wait to find out what happened next! I'm not going to say too much about the characters because I don't want to give anything away! So just go read it right now! Butttt let's just say that if you ever casually run into a complete stranger in a restaurant bathroom, who claims you as your official birthday twin- RUN. R Follow me for more tips. K bye.

Alix Summers, a podcaster, goes out to celebrate on her 45th birthday and meets a birthday twin, Josie Fair, who is also turning 45, and was born at the same hospital. It turns out that Josie had been a parent at the same school as Alix’s kids, but her kids were in their 20’s. Josie runs into Alix and asks her to stop by where she works to talk. Alix is hesitant, but finally agrees. Josie asks Alix to do a podcast on her as she is making big changes in her life by getting out of a bad marriage. Alix’s gut instinct says to walk away, but instead she agrees. What’s the fascination and who is Josie Fair? Is it what it seems? Lisa Jewell will take you on a wild ride as the truths are revealed. I love how Lisa Jewell’s books start out slowly building before they quickly become page turners that are hard to put down. I loved all the twists and turns in it! This book will leave you thinking about it long after it’s done. Perfect for book clubs to discuss as there is a lot to unpack! A great vacation read as well!
