A: The grates make this very easy for kittens to climb. I had the first kitten escape at 3-4 weeks old. You'll need to line the inside with something slick that they cannot climb.

The strength and stability of the yard comes from its reinforced ribbed panels working in conjunction with one another. For the greatest safety and stability our largest size recommendation is an octagonal shape.

A: I would not recommend using this and allow a child to pull up on it unless it was anchored in the ground someway. It is very lightweight and could fold up or either fall over. And just as an FYI, I used it to coral 3 small puppies. The biggest of the 3 learned quickly how to climb the grid and come over the wall. Hope this helps.
