Description
The beach looks good on you. That's why we've created Not Your Mother's Beach Babe Texturizing Sea Salt Spray. This secret weapon helps achieve those signature tousled waves that lead everyone to believe you just spent the day relaxing at the beach.
Not Your Mother's Beach Babe Texturizing Sea Salt Spray is formulated with dead sea salt and sea kelp to help create hair separation and body and leave your hair with a texturized, matte finish with no hot tools required. Ideal for straight hair, wavy hair, or curly hair, this hair spray offers UV protection and features a Tropical Vanilla Coconut scent that contains notes of sea spray, eucalyptus, lemon, almond, tropical fruit, coconut, vanilla, and tonka bean. This is a scent that will transport your toes to the sand if your hair hasn't already done so.
When you're ready to use the texturizing spray, simply spray onto wet hair or dry hair from mid-length to ends, then scrunch your hair and let it air dry or use a diffuser for extra volume. From there, style as desired.
Since we know you can't always keep the ocean and its breeze on call, we've bottled up their magic touch so that you can achieve that chic-yet-laid-back beach babe look wherever and whenever you want it.

Q: I have very curly hair and can be frizzy. Would this product work to make curls soft but not frizzy? The "beach" does make my hair frizzy because of the humidity so it sounds like it might?
submitted by Robin - 7 months ago
A: Hey Robin, The Not Your Mother's Beach Babe Texturizing Sea Salt Spray will create texture and grit to your hair. Unfortunately, It would not make your hair soft. I would recommend you to use a curl cream to help with the frizz and soften the curls. Q: What is the difference between the texturizing spray and the soft waves spray? Thanks!
submitted by kate938 - 4 years ago
A: Hello! Thanks for reaching out with your questions! Our Beach Babe Texturizing spray adds a matte finish whereas the Soft Waves contains aloe for softness and a loose, more relaxed beach-wave. The Soft Waves also has a tropical banana scent! :-) Hope that helps! -NYM Team

The new formula isn't as good as the old one, but it does work. The new formula is a lot more soft on your hair. I combine this with Cantu Curl Activator cream and it works fine

The new formula is bad. It doesn’t give my hair nearly the same texture as the first did. The new formula is also scented (vanilla coconut) but it doesn’t say that on the front, but rather in small text on the back, and if you want an unscented version then you’re out of luck. I always thought of this brand as the best cheap alternative to expensive sea salt sprays, but I hate to say that those days are over. Why change something that was perfect in the first place? Why re invent the wheel? I will be using a different sea salt spray until they bring back the old formula.

So I don't really notice a ton of texture using this. I prefer the L'ange product but this is a good price and has a nice beachy smell.

I would like to second the request for the old formula to come back. I'm a guy with shorter hair and when I put on the new stuff it didn't seem to add texture like it used to. Also, the new stuff seemed to be out of my hair almost instantly. I'll be trying something else and see how that goes.

I searched forever for a hair product that would work well for my natural wavy hair. I was so excited once I found this product and it’s been my absolute favorite for years. When I saw the formula had changed I was so disappointed because I worried it might not work as well. Unfortunately, my doubts were confirmed once I tried it and now I’m thinking I might be on the search for a new product again😕. Please bring back the original formula!!

I've been using this sea salt spray religiously for YEARS. My most recent bottle stated that it had a new (improved) formula. It's not improved. In fact... it now does absolutely nothing for my hair. Where it would leave texture before (especially at my roots), I now might as well just be spraying plain water. I'm so bummed.

i have very fine straight to wavy hair and this works awesome on wet/damp hair to define my waves and add volume! i've been using it for awhile now and i'm a big fan. i've used it on dry hair too and it does add wave and volume but it also leaves my hair pretty frizzy and tangled so i mostly just use it when my hair is wet. can't be beat for the price though

Did not like this at all. I have naturally wavy hair with some ringlets and it felt like it sucked all the moisture out of my hair. Used it day 2 refresh day and it felt awful plus I couldn't brush my hair after because it left a residue.
1 reply from NYM Team team - 4 months ago
Hi Keri Lynn! We are sorry to hear about your experience. Formulated with dead sea salt and sea kelp, this beach waves texturizing spray creates separation and body, leaving your hair with a texturized, matte finish. We do have Beach Babe Soft waves spray that creates texture and separation, while enhancing softness for a grit-free, touch-friendly finish. If you would like recommendations reach out to our social team and they would be happy to help with your hair type or hair needs.

Dude Trying This Out - 5 months ago, Verified purchaser
I was in the market for a product that would help style hair for casual days without feeling heavy with product (i.e., hairspray, pomade, clay, etc). This was great for a low-effort look or as a base so you use less product to get the desired look. The spray itself smells great (coconut notes), and I am happy with the transparency of ingredients being clean. I've had good results spraying directly on dry hair or towel-dried hair. You do have to reapply if the product wears off. I have also used this as a base to add lift by spraying in, blow drying with a comb to get lift, and then adding a small amount of pomade to lock it in. This is a great price compared to other sea salt sprays that are $15 for only 3-4 oz. Where this falls short for me is how it feels a bit weak. I have to spray a liberal amount to get the texture I want, which is why I did not give 5 stars. Good thing it is affordable so I can spray however much without feeling too bad.
