These softgels are labelled Halal and Kosher and even have a kosher symbol on them. They are neither as the capsule contains Bovine gelatin (beef gelatin) which is not Halal, Kosher, Vegan or Vegetarian.
This product is not vegan.

Hello, I work in a retail grocery store and had a vegan customer purchase this product. I got a call a bit later letting me know that the capsules were not plant-based. I have a lot of clients that need lecithin to supplement their choline levels, and this product is not an option for them. I realize that they can buy other vegan friendly lecithin, but why not use a cellulose-based capsule to increase sales?

SYSTEMIC ALLERGIC REACTION--Threw the bottle in the trash.

I have an auto-immune disease and tried this 'NOW' brand after the brand i was using discontinued their Sunflower Lecithin. I took ONE gelcap and am having an ALLERGIC REACTION (asthma attack, numbness/tingling of arms/legs) after I "chewed open" ONE gelcap, swallowed the Lecithin, then spit out the gelcap (which is what i do with all my supplements in gelcap form). So my allergic reaction was to the Lecithin itself and not to the gelcap coating. I will be throwing the rest of the bottle in the trash! And i'll try Swanson brand once back in stock.

It is more convenient to take the softgels, rather than eating the powder, which can be messy sometimes.

We know that lecithin is good for brain health, but I didn't want to take soy lecithin. I was glad to find that Swanson's offered a sunflower lecithin. After taking this daily for a week or so I noticed that my short term memory was better--it was enough of a difference for me to keep taking it on a regular basis.

I LOVE that this lecithin is non-GMO and soy-free! I also have granules (non-GMO, but the soy variety), but these capsules are handy if I don't have something that I want the granules in.

I have been trying this product for a few months now as I am shying away from soy. I am so glad you carry a lecithin without it, as I feel it is a good supplement to take as our brains and other body parts have lecithin in them, but like everything else starts depleting as we age, much as I hate to admit we get old. So supplementing with lecithin seems to make alot of sense to me. I also like to take supplements that I call food because then I don't feel like I'm on any drugs. Lecithin is a food.

If not for the huge size of the caps, this would be 5 stars. I believe the sunflower lecithin helps my prostate and gives me larger volume from there, and being no soy I don't worry about the phyto-estrogen problems with soy lecithin.
